I've been seeing Dr. Chandrakumar for about 12 years, and their service has always been top-notch. Now that I'm a medical student in Colombo and have limited days off, they've still been able to schedule appointments for me on my leave days. Truly excellent service!

I had a really bad experience at this hospital today. I had a scheduled appointment with an ENT specialist at 3:30, but due to personal circumstances, I couldn't get there on time. The hospital staff called me more than 10 times, even though I told them I was on my way with my crying baby. Despite my attempts to explain the situation, they continued to call, and we ended up panicking, thinking the doctor had been waiting too long. We rushed to the hospital only to discover that the doctor hadn't even arrived yet and they wouldn't inform the doctor until I got there. We almost had a serious accident on the way because we were in such a hurry. I've never encountered a hospital that pressures its patients this much to be punctual. I wanted to talk to someone higher up, but no one directed me to them. Although the doctors may be excellent, the treatment of patients and the waiting for the doctor's arrival was totally unacceptable. If I was going to be late, they could have just canceled my appointment, but instead, they were yelling at me to get there sooner. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I've had in a hospital.

My husband, who avoided glasses after reading "Better Eye Sight Without Glasses" by W.H. Bates, M.D. during his university years, faced challenges with reading at the age of 85. We visited STS Hospital in Jaffna for a consultation and treatment. The staff was prompt, attentive, and very courteous. He had cataract surgery on his right eye, and everyone from the assistants doing the eye tests to the surgeon and the medicine dispenser was polite and accommodating, making adjustments to meet our needs whenever possible. We wholeheartedly recommend STS Hospital and Dr. Chandrakumar to any family seeking quality eye care.

I had a really bad experience at STS Hospital Eye Clinic. I went there with an eye issue and got my eyes tested. A few weeks later, I encountered problems again with my lenses, so I returned for a follow-up. Unfortunately, one of the OTP staff members was particularly rude and unprofessional. It's crucial for customers to feel prioritized, especially in a hospital setting where people have health concerns. Instead of providing assistance, the staff seemed more interested in chatting and having fun while patients waited. I felt disrespected. Our eyes are incredibly important, and we expect to receive proper care and attention. When I inquired about getting my eyes checked again, they told me to come back in two years. How can anyone be expected to wait that long if they suddenly have an eye problem? Due to this experience, I decided to visit another eye clinic, where I received excellent and professional treatment. I am very disappointed with the service at STS Hospital. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve customer service and patient care. Additionally, the glasses they recommended were incorrect, as the lens power was too high. I was worried that if I followed their suggestion, I could have seriously harmed my eyesight. After consulting with another doctor, I received the correct prescription and am now fine. I was so scared of the staff's mistakes. After three months of nothing being resolved, I had to come back, only to be met with more disrespect. Action needs to be taken regarding this issue.

I had a very disappointing experience at STS today. I took my elderly mother for her 2:30pm laser eye surgery appointment, but we were informed that the doctor wouldn't arrive until after 4pm. They had already processed the payment and administered some medicine in her eyes while we waited. When I spoke to a nurse about my mother's hunger and mentioned that I wanted to get her some food, I was told we would need to take her elsewhere to eat. My mother wasn’t the only one left waiting for hours; many other patients, some elderly and from distant areas, were in the same situation, having already made their payments and received medicine. This level of service is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hospital to anyone. Even as a PRIVATE hospital, they lack organization. A public hospital would handle things better than this. It’s truly disheartening!

My aunt's cataract surgery went smoothly, and we had an overall positive experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. However, I would suggest that they improve their communication regarding the procedure and the next steps. There were moments when we were just asked to wait without clear instructions, which left us a bit puzzled. Keeping patients and their families updated on what to expect and when they will be called would enhance the experience.
