    Terrible hospital experience in Jaffna

This is the worst hospital in Jaffna. The nurses even wear slippers, and although there’s air conditioning, it’s not turned on. They also charge a lot for their services.

Avoid this hospital due to rude staff

Please avoid this hospital; they seem more interested in money than patient care. The nurses, in particular, are very rude. It's crucial to replace them with better staff, or else you'll lose your clients. Immediate action is needed.

    Disrespectful Service at Hospital

We took our mother to the Hospital for mother care. Our dermatologist, D. Sathyareka Sivapragasam, showed a complete lack of respect towards both the patient and the parents. We paid a significant amount to visit, yet her responses were far from satisfactory. Her attitude was downright terrible, making it seem like we were getting services for free. She really needs to tone it down. I strongly advise against going there. It's undoubtedly the worst hospital experience anyone could have.

Terrible experience at a money-driven hospital

This hospital operates with a focus on profit, which I found extremely disappointing. When I took my 13-year-old daughter for her first treatment, they charged me for a scan along with medical advice without even asking about her condition first. When I inquired at the reception about why they performed a scan before the doctor examined her, their indifferent response was that if the scan wasn’t done, the money would be refunded. To make matters worse, the doctor arrived very late. After the scan, she ordered a blood test. However, when my daughter had her blood drawn, she ended up bleeding heavily from her hand, and no one came to assist her. I panicked and rushed to the blood test area, where they claimed it was due to her carelessly shaking her hand after the test, and they just put a plaster on it. My daughter then felt dizzy and ended up vomiting in the bathroom, with no nurse coming to help us. When we left, we saw another pregnant woman also bleeding from her arm after her blood test. This has been the worst hospital experience I’ve ever encountered. It’s clear that their main goal is to make money. I sincerely urge the Sri Lankan government to oversee and monitor such hospitals.

    Disappointing experience at Jaffna hospital

Like other private hospitals in Jaffna, this one seems focused on making money. They often mislead patients about appointment times, and many consultants arrive quite late. It's worth noting that most of them also work at the Jaffna teaching hospital, so they typically come after their office hours around 4:15 PM. Additionally, be cautious about the medication you receive; I was charged for three weeks’ worth, but my doctor only prescribed two weeks.

Unethical Practices at Yarl Mother Care

I recently had my first visit to Yarl Mother Care Hospital as a new patient. During my appointment with Dr. SURESH KUMAR, the nursing staff asked me to pay extra for medicines and treatments. They informed me that these medications could only be obtained within the hospital, so I trusted them and went ahead with the payments. However, I later found out that these charges were unofficial and seemed to be extorted specifically from patients returning from abroad. I see this behavior as dishonest and unethical. I hope that someone will step in to address this misconduct and prevent illegal payments from affecting other patients in the future.

    Disappointing treatment at the hospital

I want to share my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment my mother and I encountered during our visit. Honestly, the behavior of your nursing staff was appalling. We were greeted with unfriendly expressions and a disrespectful tone that was entirely unjustified. As paying patients who buy all our medications from you, we expect to be treated with basic respect and not hostility. This experience was so unsatisfactory that we have decided not to return to your hospital. It's crucial that you address the unprofessional behavior of your staff immediately, as this is no way to treat individuals in need of care.

Disappointing Experience at Yarl Mother Care

I really hope that Senior Management takes action regarding the numerous negative reviews lately. Today, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Aathavan at Yarl Mother Care. I arrived on time, received my appointment receipt, and waited from 4 PM until 6:30 PM. At that point, a nurse with a completely unacceptable attitude came over and informed us that the doctor couldn’t see everyone that day. She asked if anyone would be willing to cancel and come back tomorrow. It was clear that everyone was there because they were unwell and had traveled a long distance, so nobody offered to cancel. The nurse then bluntly told us that the doctor wouldn’t see us and suggested we cancel our appointments. What kind of attitude is that from a nurse? If the doctor can’t accommodate more patients, why not limit the number of appointments instead of overbooking and sending people away? Will they take responsibility if someone becomes seriously ill due to this oversight? Had I known this appointment wouldn’t happen, I would have sought another doctor or gone to a different hospital. The hospital really needs to shift from a profit-driven mindset to one focused on service. I understand that emergencies can arise, and doctors may need to reschedule. However, the nurse’s attitude is simply unacceptable. They should have organized a quick review for everyone or found a way for the same doctor to see us today after his emergency. It wouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes to see a few additional patients.

    Poor Treatment from Staff

The receptionists and nurses here were extremely unwelcoming. They displayed unnecessary attitudes towards patients and lacked any semblance of kindness, treating them more like numbers than human beings. Management really needs to address this issue.

    Disappointing Service Experience

I am quite let down by the service at this hospital. I visited to see Dr. Keetheswaran and was instructed to arrive around 4:00 PM. Unfortunately, there was a lack of proper time management. Patients were not seen in the order of their tokens, leading to unnecessary delays and confusion. What was even more frustrating was the behavior of the nurse. She was quite rude and raised her voice at patients for no good reason. As patients, we arrive at the hospital already anxious about our health, and being treated with disrespect only adds to the stress. We are paying for the consultation; this isn’t a free service. There should always be basic courtesy and respect shown to patients. I genuinely hope the management addresses these issues and enhances both their time management and the behavior of their staff.
