The food was tasty with a wonderful selection of choices, and the ambiance was both calming and inviting. We had a great experience here and would strongly suggest this hotel to anyone seeking a delightful and unforgettable stay. We will certainly come back!

I stayed at Lavanga Resort Hotel from December 27th to January 1st, and I have to say, the location is fantastic—definitely a 5/5 for that. The hotel has a lot of potential and a nice atmosphere, but I would rate the overall service quality around 3/5 due to staffing issues. One standout during my visit was a young trainee at the reception named Jenul. His hospitality was remarkable; he was very polite, efficient, and kind, and he took excellent care of foreign guests like me. His service felt authentic and exceptional, and it was evident that he was eager to learn and improve his skills to enhance guest experiences. I genuinely believe he has a bright future in the hospitality industry. From a guest's perspective, the front office could really benefit from having more experienced staff. With the right guidance and mentoring, motivated trainees like Jenul could develop more quickly and contribute to raising the hotel's service standards. If Lavanga Resort Hotel makes these improvements, it could truly stand out and strengthen its reputation even further.

Our experience at Hotel Lavanga was fantastic. From the moment we checked in to when we checked out, everything was just right. The rooms were spotless and cozy, and the staff went above and beyond with their kindness and support. The meals were delicious and skillfully made. The vibe was peaceful and soothing. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area!

As someone who holds a senior hospitality management role in Russia, I pay close attention to hotels. I've already visited over 50 hotels in Sri Lanka, and this is my first hotel during my 2026 tour, where I stayed for three nights. ❤️ From a guest's perspective, the main issue here isn't the reception staff but rather the management's planning. On busy days, it's evident that there's insufficient reception staff, which adds unnecessary strain on the team. This isn't the staff's fault—they're doing their best under challenging circumstances. ⏳💯 Overall, the hotel is excellent 🌟, but there are clear operational enhancements needed. The reception desk design is a significant concern; it should be larger and more professionally designed. A well-thought-out reception layout, like the commonly used angled/60-degree design concept, would allow staff to work comfortably, offer them needed privacy, and make guests feel more at ease. Right now, the reception setup feels awkward for both staff and guests, not due to the people, but because of the design itself. The staff's performance was generally very good. Specifically, the reception attendant in the green shirt was incredibly helpful, providing information clearly and confidently, which greatly enhanced the guest experience. However, the front office is indeed understaffed, especially during peak times, and management should seriously think about hiring additional front office staff. 🙏 This review focuses on management because with improved front office staffing, a revamped reception desk, and better operational planning, this hotel could easily achieve a much higher standard. The potential is there; operations just need to catch up. Overall, I recommend this hotel, which has strong potential if these enhancements are implemented. This is merely a request and my honest opinion. We love Lavanga! ❤️

Lavanga offered the best rates for conferences in Hikkaduwa. AIESEC from the University of Moratuwa organized a two-day leadership development seminar here, and it was the most affordable option we found. The hall was spacious, providing ample room for our conference and allowing us a lot of flexibility in planning. Since it was a two-day event, we required accommodations for 112 attendees, and they had enough rooms to meet our needs. A special shoutout to the hotel staff for making this a memorable experience. Their assistance, whether it was adjusting the AC or cleaning the hall, was outstanding. The hotel manager was always attentive and offered help throughout the conference, and a big thanks to Thushari Miss for her support. The rooms were excellent, and the food was exceptional. The success of the conference was largely due to the support we received from the hotel.

The room was quite decent, featuring glasses, water, a kettle, a fridge, a TV, and even a safe for valuables. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but there were several drawbacks. The doors and the balcony railing showed signs of rust and wear, making it feel a bit unsafe.

I wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyone. It looks nothing like the pictures. The windows are dirty, the mirror is stained, there were cockroaches in the bathroom, and I even spotted a lizard in my room. The sink was filled with leftover food from...

The hotel overall is quite nice and budget-friendly. However, the variety of food could be improved, although the dishes are delicious. The deluxe rooms are spacious, but I noticed there were no bathroom door mats. It would be better if the room floors had carpets or tiles. The view from the balcony is fantastic.
