    Unsafe Conditions at This Hotel

    The accommodation felt quite uncomfortable, with noticeable dirt and an old sink and toilet. The bathroom door wouldn't lock or close properly. We had no wifi in our room; it was only available in the nearby restaurant. Our room was equipped with just a fan, which was quite noisy. There was also blood on the anti-mosquito net. Additionally, I cut my finger on the coral reefs right in front of the hotel. While there are surf rentals and a school nearby, they prioritize profit over safety. They are aware of the dangers posed by the coral reefs but still restrict access to other areas. I strongly advise against surfing in front of this hotel; it poses serious health risks. That day, both I and another person were injured by the reefs.

    Longtime Favorite in Hikkaduwa

    I've been visiting Rita's since the days when Rita was alive and first opened it as a guest house on the surfing beach back in 1983. It has truly become my second home in Hikkaduwa, where I've immersed myself in studying the intriguing Devil Dance.

    Relaxed beachside dining experience

    This is a lovely and laid-back spot located right by the beach. Although the hotel entrance is from the main road, there's a path behind the rooms that leads to a shack and then to the beach, which was ideal. The restaurant offered decent food. The rooms were tidy, clean, and well-kept. The service was also good.

    Mixed experience with dining and room

    The room with a sea view was decent, but we had a kettle that we couldn't plug in, so no tea or water was available. The biggest letdown was the restaurant: it was terrible. We were served two different types of fish that were boiled and topped with some ketchup, the chips were brown and had black stains, and the white rice was just thrown out from the rice cooker—dry and flavorless. It was a disgusting meal in a dirty environment. I'm thankful we only stayed for one night.

    Great location but some issues

    Our room could have been cleaner, and the small fridge was completely covered in mold, making it unusable. The restaurant was somewhat underwhelming; I ordered coffee but received a yellowish, transparent liquid with brown crumbs, which made me initially think they had mistaken my order for tea. The food was decent, but definitely overpriced. On the positive side, the location is fantastic as it's right by the beach, and the staff were friendly.

    Great family stay near Hikkaduwa Beach

    I recently had a wonderful stay at a hotel close to Hikkaduwa Beach with my family. Rooms: The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-kept. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the nice touches like complimentary bottled water, toiletries, and a mini-fridge. The air conditioning functioned well, which was essential in the tropical heat. Some rooms even provided a breathtaking view of the ocean, enhancing our experience. Service: The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. From check-in to check-out, they were always willing to assist with a smile. Room service was quick and effective, and the housekeeping team did an excellent job keeping everything tidy. They also helped us arrange tours and suggested local dining options. A special thanks to Mr. Ranjith for his outstanding service to us.

    Great family-friendly stay with a view

    We spent nearly three weeks here in two family rooms on the top floor. They were clean, comfortable, and equipped with air conditioning, offering a stunning view along the coast!     Delicious Sri Lankan Breakfast Spot

    We ordered a Sri Lankan breakfast from this restaurant and it was quite good. We enjoyed string hoppers and bread accompanied by pol sambola and dhal curry, and everything was well-prepared and satisfying. In this area, there aren't many places that serve a genuine Sri Lankan breakfast, and most don't offer it at all. For that reason, this restaurant stands out as a top choice. The prices are very reasonable too, which makes it an even better option for a morning meal.
