Two families on vacation in Hikkaduwa chose to enjoy a seaside family dinner on January 1 at the Indian restaurant located in the Paradiso Hotel. Unfortunately, we were let down by the meal. The food was quite lacking in quality, and we waited an excruciating 90 minutes for just one dish to arrive.

This place was budget-friendly and tidy. We typically don't spend much time in hotels since we enjoy diving, snorkeling, and exploring. Our room was on the ground floor, which meant we had to keep the curtains closed due to people passing by and peering in. Overall, the room was decent.

This place is quite large and conveniently located near the beach. It's budget-friendly, although parking can be a bit of a hassle in the area. There are numerous restaurants and hotels within walking distance. They offer both A/C and non-A/C rooms across three or four floors. However, the standard room doesn't provide hot water. It features two separate single beds and an attached bathroom. If you're mainly looking for a place to stay, this spot will meet your needs.

The staff here is incredibly kind and accommodating. The rooms are quite basic by Sri Lankan standards, but given the low prices, you shouldn't expect too much. There’s no TV and daily room service is not provided. The location is great, right by the beach, though you can't swim directly in front of the hotel; however, larger beaches are just a minute away. Free wifi is available. The owners are very approachable and willing to assist with anything you need.

We spent three weeks at Paradiso and enjoyed every second of our time there. Our room was on the first floor and featured a large balcony where we could admire the sea and the stunning sunsets. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Guna, who cleaned our room daily, was especially helpful and attentive.

While this isn't a five-star hotel, the staff truly make it feel like one. The owner and his wife treat every guest like family, demonstrating real care and hospitality. I'm really happy with my decision to stay here, as I value the outstanding service, great location, tasty food, and all the amenities offered.

My experience at this hotel in Hikkaduwa was quite disappointing. The room wasn't cleaned properly, and we didn’t even receive any bed sheets, leaving us with nothing to cover ourselves while sleeping, which made it very uncomfortable. The bed quality was subpar, the security didn’t seem trustworthy, and the air conditioner was malfunctioning. Overall, the essential facilities were not well-maintained. Due to these problems, I can't recommend this hotel to anyone.👎🏼
