    Terrible experience at Suwa Shanthi Hospital

    This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. I can’t recommend anyone to seek medical help here. Despite having insurance, when I asked for my bills to file a claim, they requested that I provide copies of previous bills. If they already have my records, why do I need to ask for them again? The receptionist appears to lack even the most basic knowledge. If you need surgery or a specialist consultation, avoid Suwa Shanthi Hospital at all costs; it’s completely ineffective. It’s been a month and a half since my visit, and I still haven’t gotten my medical bills. Useless service, and I plan to share this on social media so others know—I don’t want anyone else to go through this.

    Excellent care at Suwa Shanthi Hospital

    My experience at Suwa Shanthi Hospital was great. The nursing staff are attentive and very kind to the patients. The rooms and facilities are kept in excellent condition, and they respond quickly in emergencies. They offer top-notch treatment at reasonable prices. It really feels like a home away from home during tough times.

    Terrible service and disrespectful staff

    The service here was the worst I've ever encountered. The customer care was not only unhelpful but also seemed threatening to patients and customers, as if they were running a public charity. If this is the kind of disrespectful service people are going to receive, they wouldn't bother paying for treatments. This is the most terrible medical business I've ever dealt with. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking private medical services. I've had better experiences at government hospitals than here.

    Terrible staff attitude and service

    The staff here have a dreadful attitude. It seems like the nursing staff have received the worst training in the city. I've heard locals speak negatively about this place as well. They bring patients in hours before their scheduled appointment times, which is a frustrating waste of customers' valuable time.

    Unprofessional Service at Shanthi Hospital

    I want to express my strong dissatisfaction with the service at Shanthi Hospital. When I visited, I asked for a reprint of a receipt, but the female manager on duty handled it in a very unprofessional and disrespectful way. She told us that the office was closed because it was Sunday, but her tone was rude and dismissive towards me as a patient. To make matters worse, she started shouting, insisting that the hospital had already provided us with service. People go to a hospital in distress, looking for care, and being treated with such hostility during a tough time is unacceptable. In my view, this was the worst service experience I've had in Anuradhapura. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously so that future patients receive the empathy and professionalism they deserve.

    Frustratingly Slow Service

    I was really let down by the service. I waited over an hour and a half to see the doctor, but nobody gave me any updates on the doctor's arrival or how much longer I would have to wait. Even though there were plenty of staff around, it felt like no one was paying attention to the patients or providing any reassurance or updates.

    Disappointing hospital experience

    My wife had a really frustrating time at the hospital yesterday. She went there to see a doctor and get medication for her mother. She ended up waiting in front of the assigned room for over two hours, hoping the doctor would show up. After an hour, the receptionist told her the doctor would be there in about 10 minutes. But even after another hour and 10 minutes, the doctor still hadn’t come. At around 10:10 PM, I tried to call the receptionist again, but the reception was already closed. I then looked up the hospital reviews online, found a contact number, and called it. That’s when I learned that the doctor had already finished his session. We later found out that the doctor had been seeing patients in a different room instead of Room No. 325. Unfortunately, this change wasn’t communicated to my wife or mother. After we brought this to their attention, the hospital staff quickly processed a refund and asked them to leave, without offering any help to see another doctor or schedule a new appointment. This lack of adequate support and customer care was incredibly disappointing.

    Poor punctuality and respect for patients

    As noted in many other reviews, punctuality is completely lacking. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00 a.m., and now it's 12:30 p.m. with no sign of the doctor. I really can't understand the reason for this delay. It feels like they don't value the patient's time or the pain they're experiencing, both mentally and physically.

    Concerns Over Nurse's Decision-Making

    I visited the hospital at about 2:30 PM on July 9, 2026, because my baby had a head injury. While the doctor was busy with another patient, a nurse evaluated the wound and informed me that it needed stitches, estimating the cost to be between 5,000 and 6,000 rupees. My concern isn't the price itself, but rather whether it's proper for a nurse to make such a call without the doctor having assessed the patient first.

    The service we received was exceptional. My child had surgery, and the care provided was both professional and of high quality during the entire process. We want to sincerely thank the staff and everyone involved, especially the Managing Director, for their commitment and assistance.
