Confusing Location, Disappointing Food

I visited for a meal and found the entrance and layout of the hotel to be quite confusing, almost like navigating a maze. Additionally, there were many steep steps without handrails, which made it tricky. The menu prices are clear, but the average cost per person for a meal is around 15,000 to 20,000/-. Unfortunately, the food was poorly prepared and didn't warrant that price. The Fish Tartare lacked vinegar or lime juice and had a very off-putting fishy smell. The bread served with the fondue was limp, and the Crème Brûlée was overwhelmed by cardamom flavor.

Charming Boutique Hotel in Colombo

"La Maison de Colombo" is a lovely boutique hotel situated right in the city's center, making it convenient for exploring. It's a fantastic option for anyone looking to stay in Colombo. With just seven delightful and spacious rooms, the hotel offers comfort and a design featuring authentic Sri Lankan furnishings. The atmosphere is very calming and cozy, giving you the impression of being away from the hustle and bustle. The French restaurant overlooking the pool has fantastic choices for those who enjoy French cuisine. I absolutely adore this charming place and highly recommend it.

Charming French Hotel in Colombo

This is a lovely, tidy, and tranquil French hotel located right in the center of Colombo. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the hotel owner makes you feel quite at home. If we hadn't already made our flight reservations, we would have been eager to prolong our stay. Definitely recommended!

Great stay, but room issues

This charming hotel offers excellent food, wine, and service. The grounds are quite beautiful, and the host is both helpful and generous. However, our room, located next to the car park, office, and entrance, was disappointing. It was noisy, dark, and lacked proper ventilation aside from the air conditioning. Thankfully, there are other lovely rooms available on the property. I would consider returning, but only if I could secure a different room.

Charming Wine Bar Experience

We enjoyed a lovely short evening at La Maison de Colombo. From the moment we entered the wine bar, we were impressed. The ambiance is stunning, serving as a fantastic homage to wine culture and enjoyment. The hotel staff are friendly, and the owner possesses extensive knowledge about regional wine culture, culinary significance, and local identity, making him a pleasant person to meet. The tasting experiences are excellent, allowing you to spend hours discovering something new. La Maison de Colombo is definitely a must-visit. It's an amazing and charming spot that I highly recommend.

Charming French Escape in Colombo

During our Christmas holiday, we were captivated by the beauty of this place. The Christmas decorations crafted by the manager, Ms. Beatrice, were both original and stunning. Christophe, the manager, greeted us warmly and took us on a tour of the royal suite we had reserved. The suite was exceptional, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the comforts you could desire, including Wi-Fi, a minibar, air conditioning, and even a jacuzzi! We enjoyed a restful sleep on the very comfortable bed. Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding, featuring innovative takes on French recipes. The wine selection was excellent, and the waitstaff were delightful. Don't miss the chance to swim in the clean and well-maintained pool before breakfast. We had a fantastic experience and will certainly return, as we appreciated the warm welcome, attentive service, delicious food, and the overall beauty and cleanliness of the establishment. A heartfelt thank you to Maison de France in Colombo for providing such a unique experience!

Charming boutique hotel experience

This quaint boutique hotel is run by a lovely French couple, and we truly enjoyed our conversations with them. The French general manager is a delightful woman who goes above and beyond to meet every request. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean, and we loved having coffee from the Nespresso machine in our room each morning. The nights were peaceful, allowing us to sleep soundly in the large, comfortable bed, ready for a day of sightseeing ahead. La Maison de Colombo is definitely a place we would revisit on our next trip.
