Service Issues at a Five-Star Hotel
As a National Tourist Guide Lecturer, I've visited Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo multiple times to check in guests. However, I've been quite let down by the service from the hotel staff. There have been numerous service problems over the years. Most recently, on March 9, 2027, at about 2:00 AM, I checked in a group of 32 guests, and we faced several issues during the process. Some of the room key cards were malfunctioning, leading to unnecessary delays and frustration for the guests. One particularly alarming incident involved a key being given to one of my guests for a room that was already occupied. When the guest opened the door, they found another guest inside. This kind of error is unacceptable, especially for a hotel claiming five-star status. I urge the hotel management to reassess and enhance their front office and room management practices, as the current service level does not align with what one would expect from a five-star establishment. Such experiences are inconvenient and can hurt the reputation of the destination.
