My best friend and I traveled to Arugam for a week of surfing as beginners trying to get back into it. Risy made for an excellent surf instructor; he concentrated on helping us refine our technique so we could make controlled turns on green waves while also emphasizing safety, which really kept us from getting knocked around on the busy days. He has a great sense of humor, making challenging lessons feel more like fun times with a friend, and he really understood us. I’d definitely recommend him to any solo female travelers.
