The place could really use some renovations since the photos are quite outdated. Still, the staff were friendly, and the food was decent. It's fine for a quick stop, but I wouldn't stay here for more than a night. The best part was the sunset tour across the lake. We spotted elephants and a variety of birds, and the sunset over the lake was truly stunning.

The views of the lake are absolutely captivating. It's an ideal spot to enjoy both sunset and sunrise, creating a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The staff has been exceptional. You definitely have to try the vegetable curry and rice for dinner; it's been the best meal I've had in Sri Lanka, and the portion was quite large. We even skipped lunch, but we still couldn't finish it.

During our stay at Hotel Lake Park in Polonnaruwa, the standout feature was undoubtedly the view. Overlooking the picturesque Bandiwewa lake, it creates a serene and beautiful setting. That said, the overall experience felt quite mediocre. The room was in poor shape and didn't live up to our expectations. The food also fell short; we tried the biriyani for dinner and the English breakfast, but both were lacking in flavor and quality. Service is another area that needs improvement, as the staff were not particularly friendly or attentive. I think this place may be better suited for backpackers or those seeking a basic stay focused on the view, rather than comfort or quality service.

This place is a gem with plenty of potential. The staff are friendly and very attentive. The views in the area are stunning. We really enjoyed the boat trip arranged by the hotel. The food was fantastic. While the rooms were comfortable, they could benefit from extra amenities like a mini fridge or TV.

We had an amazing stay at this hidden gem! The location is simply perfect, situated by a serene lake with stunning views. The real highlight is around midnight when elephants pass by as if they’re guests themselves! The environment is lush and tranquil. The food was a standout feature, offering authentic Sri Lankan flavors that were DELICIOUS! A big thanks to the manager and all the staff who were incredibly friendly, supportive, and made us feel at home. The atmosphere is laid-back, the rooms are cozy, and you can relax to the sounds of nature. It’s the ideal mix of comfort and wilderness. Those midnight elephant visits are truly the icing on the cake. Looking forward to returning!

We had a fantastic two-night stay at this charming spot. It's located right by the lake, surrounded by plenty of wildlife. Everything was tidy, and the staff were both friendly and accommodating. The pool and garden area were wonderful, making it a perfect place to unwind in nature. We also had several meals here. They organized a boat trip on the lake for us, and we were fortunate enough to see elephants from the boat. We spent some time nearby, watching them peacefully without causing any disturbance, which was an incredible experience. I really wish we could have stayed longer!

I had one of my best experiences at this hotel, and I can confidently say it's among the finest places I've ever stayed. This trip was particularly special since it was my first outing with my parents, and choosing this hotel proved to be the right choice. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a sense of calm and relaxation. The atmosphere is incredibly serene, making it a perfect spot to truly unwind and enjoy ourselves without any stress. It provided precisely the peaceful and comfortable setting we were seeking. The lakeside view is breathtaking — waking up to that gorgeous scenery was one of the highlights of our visit. The natural environment adds so much charm to the overall experience. We also had the opportunity to take part in several activities organized by the hotel, such as a boat tour, a jeep safari, and a tuk-tuk tour of an ancient city. Each of these experiences was fascinating, well-organized, and greatly enhanced our trip. We stayed in a spacious triple room styled like a cottage, which was very comfortable and offered a lovely view. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. The staff were outstanding — very friendly, professional, and always willing to assist with a smile. Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was truly delicious, with great flavor and quality in every meal we enjoyed. Overall, this hotel surpassed our expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing, picturesque, and memorable stay. I would definitely love to return!

This fabulous hotel by the lake offers stunning views of a picturesque lake. My room was spacious yet simple, featuring a good-sized bathroom. It also had an outdoor table and bench that overlooked the swimming pool. The swimming pool itself is beautiful and provides lovely views of the lake.

This place is truly a treasure! The location is stunning, right by the lake. Each evening, you might spot water buffalo, and if you're lucky, even elephants in the water. The pool is a fantastic addition, impeccably maintained and pristine. The rooms are luxurious and spotless, exceeding our expectations. The staff is exceptionally kind and well-trained, which left a strong impression on me! The food is absolutely delicious. It's my favorite spot in Polonnaruwa!
