Warm hospitality and clean environment

Comfortable stay with generous hosts

The room was clean and cozy, offered at a fair price. Fresh towels and bed sheets were provided, the shower had warm water, and the mosquito nets were effective. Initially, the Wi-Fi signal was weak (the whole area struggles with poor phone and internet connectivity). The garden was lovely! Our hosts were very welcoming; they prepared breakfast for us at no extra charge and delivered it to our room. They also arranged bikes, making it easy for us to explore the old city without needing to walk or take a tuk-tuk. We had no issues leaving our luggage for a few hours after check-out. Note that payment is accepted in LKR, even if your booking was made in USD.

Room Availability Issues

The owner initially assured me a room, but when I returned the next day, he denied availability despite my advance payment. He was even considering providing a room from a different hotel, but couldn't make a decision.

Disappointing Amenities for Locals

The atmosphere here isn't very welcoming for locals, even though they appear to cater to foreigners differently. When locals make a reservation, they take away all the amenities from the room. They claim it's because locals tend to damage electric kettles, so they remove them, which seems unreasonable since kettles are common household items these days. Essentially, all you get is a bed and some linen. Even in the Deluxe category room, there's no tea-making facility. It feels quite unkind not to provide at least a small water bottle and a glass in a place known for kidney disease.

Perfect for an Overnight Stay

We just needed a place to stay for the night, and this spot was perfect for that. The room was spacious and clean, providing a quiet atmosphere. The hot water was decent, though not extremely hot or powerful. The local breakfast for just USD3 was tasty. The wifi connection was somewhat unreliable. The owner was very friendly and eager to help. It's conveniently located about a minute from the clock tower.

Great stay near Polonnaruwa

This is a lovely place in Poonnaruwa with a great location and friendly staff. I highly recommend it. It's very close to the old city of Polonnaruwa, and they offer a grand breakfast and dinner. Geethani Tourist Home is a sweet spot, and they arranged a tuk-tuk for us, which was very helpful. Plus, the Parakrama Samudraya tank is all nearby.

Great host and value for money

You'll be welcomed by a fantastic host in a spotless, newly furnished room. It offers excellent value for what you pay. You can completely rely on him to arrange safaris and tours! The breakfast was enjoyable as well. All in all, it's a cozy place.
