Incredible Experience at Katharagama Safari Hotel

I recently had an amazing experience at the Katharagama Safari Hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. My room was immaculate and beautifully decorated, equipped with all the amenities I needed. The location is ideal, conveniently close to KATHARGAMA. Breakfast was fantastic, offering a diverse range of options. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a luxurious and comfortable stay. I’m definitely planning to return!

Disappointing Stay with Poor Service

The place leaves much to be desired. The service was very lacking. We booked two VIP rooms for 15,000, but one room had a malfunctioning AC and no hot water, while the other had issues with hot water and showers. Additionally, the toilet bowls weren't flushing properly. We ordered tea upon our arrival, but it took two hours to receive it. When it finally arrived, it was sweetened despite our request for no sugar. We traveled all the way from Kandy for a safari tour scheduled early the next morning, only to have the tour canceled close to midnight because their vehicle broke down. They didn’t even attempt to find an alternative vehicle for us. To top it off, they charged us a service fee of 2,600 despite the lack of proper service. I wouldn’t recommend booking here without checking the rooms first, and I suggest avoiding any food and drinks from this place as the prices are quite high and don’t match the value received.

Comfortable Stay Near Katharagama Temple

This is an excellent spot for a wonderful holiday. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the hotel itself was clean and cozy, located close to the Katharagama temple. The room rates were quite reasonable for a three-star hotel; I honestly felt like I was in a five-star accommodation due to the comfort provided. Our room had a mini cool box, a tea maker, hot water, and a nice TV. Overall, we had a fantastic experience during our stay. A special thanks to the staff who took care of us.

Disappointing Stay in Kataragama

Our experience at this accommodation in Kataragama was quite disappointing. The management clearly didn't grasp the concept of cottage style. We had to relocate from our initial room to another because the air conditioning was malfunctioning, but ironically, the air conditioning in the second room was also broken. This meant we moved three times with our luggage. None of the rooms had working air conditioning. Their idea of a cottage seemed to be just a bed and an empty bathroom. There were no toiletries like shampoo or soap, and we didn't even have a towel, a bottle of water, or a glass in the room. I was left questioning whether this was truly a cottage. Ultimately, we had to search for a different place to spend the night. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone looking to relax on vacation.

Consistently Impressive Hotel Experience

During my second visit to this cozy hotel in October 2015, I found it just as impressive as my first stay. I was really struck by how well they maintain the hotel's standards. The place was spotless, and there were numerous new amenities and improvements to enjoy.

Enjoyable stay with pricing issues

I traveled with friends and stayed for one night. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in two of the rooms wasn’t functioning. They informed us that the cost for a meal per person would be Rs 550, but at checkout, we were charged Rs 950 for dinner and Rs 550 for breakfast. On a positive note, the food was delicious and the location was stunning.
