New hotel with great service

This hotel is quite new, and the staff is incredibly helpful and polite. While English can be a bit of a hurdle, the excellent service makes it easier to overlook. The rooms are relatively new and come with toiletries, which is uncommon for budget hotels but standard here. They are clean, and the bed linens are particularly neat. The air conditioning functions well, and the balcony, while not offering the best views, is still inviting. The equipment and fixtures in the room are in good working order. You may need to request an Indian socket plug, as they have American sockets installed. There’s even a mirror by the bed, which is a nice touch. The bathroom is spacious and well-designed, featuring a separate shower cubicle. Service is prompt and very courteous. They serve you your next dish, which may not exactly replicate the traditional preparation, but it's close enough that you’ll enjoy the flavor. The value for money is excellent, and I highly recommend this place.

Comfortable Stay with Great Service

We stayed for a night at this new property, and it was quite spacious, clean, and comfortable. The room was equipped with all the necessary amenities like A/C, a mini fridge, a TV, hot water, and tea-making facilities. The food was awesome and delicious, complemented by excellent service. The owner was very friendly and supportive. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Dambulla.

Great stay with friendly staff

We stayed here for two nights, and I want to express my gratitude to the receptionist and the gentleman who looked after us during breakfast. They were both incredibly nice and attentive to the guests. The room was clean and comfy, with a lovely bedroom. The food was excellent; we really enjoyed the breakfasts, which were large and delicious.

Great breakfast, helpful staff

Practical Family Stay in Dambulla

This hotel is a solid and practical option for families visiting Dambulla. While it isn't luxurious, it fulfills its purpose effectively if you're mostly out exploring during the day and just need a clean, comfy place to unwind at night. One downside is the absence of an elevator, which means you have to take the stairs to reach the upper floors, and this can be a hassle, particularly with heavy bags. However, the hotel staff were incredibly kind and even helped us carry our luggage up to the third floor, which we truly appreciated. The in-house restaurant is somewhat limited in its menu, but there are several decent dining options within a short 10-minute drive. In summary, it’s a straightforward, no-frills hotel with great service—ideal for short stays or as a base while you explore Dambulla and the surrounding attractions.

Great hotel but room issues

The hotel had a lovely appearance, offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding nature. I really enjoyed the food and the service, with staff members always wearing smiles. However, I do want to caution others: the room cleaners seem to be dishonest, so it's wise to keep an eye on them while they clean. Additionally, the rooms had a problem with insects and lizards.

Comfortable stay with good breakfast

During our one-night visit to Dumbulla and Sigiriya, we stayed at this hotel, which you can reach via an alley from the main road. Our room was roomy and the beds quite comfy. We particularly liked the breakfast, which included both Western and local ala carte options. All in all, it offers excellent value for the price.

Great staff, but room issues

We can only rate Eden Grand Hotel three stars. The main issue was our room, which had a completely damp wall and a noticeable mold smell as soon as we walked in. This made our stay uncomfortable and was hard to ignore, even though the room itself was great. On a positive note, the staff really made a difference. They were all very attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful, which we truly appreciated. Breakfast was also a highlight, offering a lovely selection between an English breakfast and a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. Due to the room’s condition, we opted to check out a day early. The hotel kindly refunded half of our room price, which we thought was a fair and nice gesture. In summary, while the service and breakfast were excellent, the room's condition unfortunately impacted our overall experience.
