Our group enjoyed a lovely, peaceful visit at Amaara Forest Hotel. While the location is remote, it enhances the charm of this stunning hotel. The staff were attentive, friendly, and very helpful. A stay here is certainly worthwhile!

Amaara Forest Hotel in Sigiriya is a fantastic choice if you seek tranquility, comfort, and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality. Set in a beautiful and serene natural environment, it's conveniently located near Sigiriya Rock, making it perfect for sightseeing. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-kept. The staff members are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always eager to assist, which made us feel at home right from our arrival. Their warm hospitality really made an impression. The food was tasty, offering a great variety of authentic flavors. We loved the Hiriwadunna Lake and village tour, which provided a truly genuine experience. The boat ride on the lake and the village walk offered a glimpse into traditional Sri Lankan village life. The scenery was stunning, the locals were welcoming, and the entire tour was well-organized. All in all, it was a relaxing and memorable experience, and I would definitely recommend Amaara Forest Hotel to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

We just spent three nights at Amaraa Forest Resort and it was stunning. The room and bathroom were spacious, the pool was fantastic, and the staff were outstanding. Located in a remote area, it offered a serene atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Our group had an amazing stay at Amaara Forest Lodge. It’s a peaceful retreat with comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, a lovely pool, and attentive service - you’ll definitely be happy you chose this place. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony, listening to the birds and occasionally seeing monkeys and squirrels playing in the trees. After a long, hot day filled with activities, it was a delight to return to Amaara for a swim, a cocktail, and either a buffet dinner or à la carte options. While it’s a bit away from the main road, the tranquility and serenity make it worthwhile.

The resort feels old and worn out, and getting to the hotel is quite a challenge, but being surrounded by the forest is a plus. Even though it was peak season, the resort was surprisingly quiet, although amenities like the pool table and gym were only accessible by requesting a key. The pool towels were frayed, and there was no à la carte menu offered, which I found hard to believe since there were plenty of empty restaurant tables. The quality of the food was lacking, with hot dishes served cold—we even had to ask the chef to reheat a portion. The salad bar appeared to have been prepared early in the afternoon and was left out. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, and I wouldn't rate this resort as a 5-star; it feels more like a 3-star with significant room for improvement.
