This is a lovely, tranquil spot perfect for nature enthusiasts. We stayed by the river where we spotted numerous turtles and birds. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped us arrange transportation. The meals they prepared were tasty. You can really see the effort and thought put into creating this place. The beds were cozy, and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower.

What an incredible place! We’re thrilled to have discovered this spot; it’s just the kind of treasure we seek while traveling. The accommodations are set in a tranquil area filled with wildlife. We truly appreciated our mornings and evenings on the terrace, where we observed tortoises, monitor lizards, hornbills, kingfishers, monkeys, and even a large squirrel. The hosts are fantastic cooks, very welcoming, and eager to assist. If you get the chance to stay here, make sure you don’t miss it!

We thoroughly appreciated our time here. Surrounded by wildlife, we even spotted two rare species right outside our door: the purple-faced langur and Ratufa macroura. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always eager to assist.

Raintree truly sets a high standard for relaxed eco-tourism. It's cozier than Ubud in Bali. The layout of the resort is uniquely arranged, striking a lovely balance between connection and privacy. The cottages beautifully blend nature with comfort. The hosts are considerate and welcoming, and the food is both authentic and delicious. I can't wait to return! I highly recommend it!

Raintree was our final destination in Sri Lanka before heading back home, and it turned out to be the best experience of our entire trip. We chose to splurge a little beyond our budget because the photos looked amazing, and we were not disappointed.

Raintree Retreat marked our first full stay in Sri Lanka, and it proved to be one of the best choices of our journey. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, instantly making us feel at home upon arrival. They assisted us with everything — from scooter rentals to recommending safari adventures and pointing out local food spots we had to try. What really impressed us was their kindness on checkout day; they let us stay as long as we wished until it was time for us to leave, which was incredibly considerate. The location is a bit distant from major attractions like Sigiriya (about a 30-minute drive), but the tranquility of the area and the peaceful ambiance more than compensated for it. We honestly didn’t mind the drive at all, as coming back to such a calm and quiet place was part of the charm. Our stay was comfortable, well-kept, and ideal for anyone seeking a laid-back escape with authentic hospitality. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic experience immersed in the beauty and tranquility of Sri Lanka! We enjoyed hikes to a nearby reservoir and through the local neighborhood. The local monastery provided a lovely backdrop with its chanting. We spotted lemurs, grey-faced langur monkeys, horn-billed birds, cranes, monitor lizards, turtles, fish, and frogs! The couple who owns the place are wonderful, and the staff was very attentive. They also have adorable dogs and a cat. Our cabin could use some improvements, but that’s a minor issue. The air conditioning worked well, although there was no Wi-Fi. Thank you for a truly unforgettable glamping adventure!
