I had a genuinely unpleasant experience at this hotel. It’s situated in a stunning location with a lovely venue, but it feels poorly managed. While it’s not directly on the beach, that wasn't a problem for me since it offers a gorgeous river view and lovely gardens—though they do seem to attract a lot of mosquitoes. Other than the check-in process, I found it lacking in several areas.

We had a reservation at this hotel, but we decided to leave without unpacking our bags. Upon arrival, we encountered staff who weren't particularly friendly. Although we were taken to a spot by the lake for a drink, the tablecloths were dirty, and there were men speaking very loudly while trying to sort something out.

This place is a stunning and tranquil paradise, nestled in an awe-inspiring natural environment. It's spacious but feels authentic and organic, featuring numerous gardens and peaceful areas for reflection, all while hosting a variety of animals and birds living together harmoniously.

We spent two nights here after our tour of Sri Lanka. The location is beautiful, surrounded by plenty of wildlife. Our chalet was clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and attentive. The restaurant served what was likely the best food we had during our three-week trip.

Initially, we considered canceling our two-day stay due to our gut feeling, but the appealing photos kept us intrigued. Upon arrival, we felt let down right away. However, we chose to stay optimistic because of the pool and the wildlife around us.

We enjoyed a peaceful week here. The Chalet was spotless and offered great comfort. The Manager, who lives on-site with his family, is readily available for any questions or concerns you might have. He and his staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

This place feels like a paradise. Compared to any other spot in Sri Lanka, it's a peaceful mini-resort perfect for unwinding. There are only nine beautiful, well-furnished bungalows. The bed is by far the most comfortable I've experienced in any accommodation. The gardens are impressively spacious. The food is tasty. I enjoyed a cooking class with Athula, which was a lot of fun. The staff overall are very pleasant. I believe their shifts should be split up more so they can enjoy their personal lives outside of Dalmanuta. Despite the long hours, everyone remains cheerful and friendly. Morning yoga is an added perk. The massages were excellent. The boat trip to the beach was enjoyable, although the departure time of 12 noon might need a little adjustment. The ocean in March can be rough, but that’s beyond the control of this lovely place. It's truly a gem!

Our recent visit to Thaala Hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed a delightful stay there. The warm traditional welcome set a wonderful tone for our experience. The staff across all departments were incredibly helpful. The garden area is beautiful and spacious. The pool area is stunning and well-maintained. It truly is an amazing spot, providing a very relaxing atmosphere.
