Great stay with nearby beach access
The architectural design is incredible. We had a really enjoyable stay while we were there. The beach is just 100 meters away, and there's a restaurant nearby. I highly recommend this place.

All good on the beach behind Taj. People are so friendly. Rooms are 4 star category.

This restaurant has a lovely and cozy atmosphere. It's just a short walk from the beach, which is a bonus. The breakfast here was fantastic as well.

This spot is truly fantastic! I feel fortunate to have found it, as it’s operated by a lovely family—a mom, a dad, and their wonderful child. They’re just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside! The breakfast here was the best I’ve experienced in Sri Lanka, and the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and clean. I absolutely love this place!!!

We enjoyed a fantastic stay here! The room was spacious, cool, and comfortable, plus our host was extremely welcoming and provided us with lots of information. We arrived in a tuk tuk and had ample parking space, which made us feel secure since our tuk tuk was behind a gate. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The entire family is involved in the business, and they are all incredibly kind, accommodating, and dedicated to making everything perfect! The accommodation is conveniently located right next to their home, giving you privacy, but they are always nearby if you need anything. We also enjoyed dinner there, which was delicious and satisfying, almost like having your own private restaurant. The beach is just a short walk through the woods, and they’ll guide you there (the little boy of the family actually showed us around 😉). There's a temple close by, so you'll hear prayers in the morning and evening, which we found to be quite authentic, though it might wake you up 😉!

We were really looking forward to our stay, especially since it was the most expensive one we had booked. After reading numerous positive reviews, we thought it would be a fantastic way to conclude our trip, but it turned out to be a mistake. I wouldn't label the place as dirty, but there was a terrible smell that was quite off-putting.

The absence of drinking water in the room is a major drawback. I stayed in room number 1, and I faced significant problems with the air conditioning. I spent the entire night trying to find a comfortable temperature; it didn’t cool effectively at 20 degrees, and at 25 degrees, it only started to work well after some time. On the bright side, the breakfast was good.

We stayed here for a night while driving back to Negombo along the coast. The room was spacious and clean, but the service we received was among the worst we've encountered in Sri Lanka. I'm not sure if this is a real homestay with a family or just staff for hire. Based on the lack of basic hospitality skills, it seems like they didn’t own the place or care much about the guests. We booked through Agoda, and the benefits listed in our reservation included "free wifi, drinking water, tea/coffee..." When we inquired about the water and tea/coffee, they told us to go to the market to buy it, claiming they don’t provide any. I pointed out that this contradicts what was stated in my booking. Instead of accommodating us with a simple tea bag, they began arguing with me through messages. They even pointed out the room rates during high season, suggesting we should be grateful for the lower price and not expect amenities like tea or coffee, emphasizing that it’s not a 5-star hotel. We reminded them that we’ve enjoyed wonderful homestays for a third of the price where we were treated exceptionally well. Eventually, after I sent a screenshot of the booking benefits, they dropped a few tea bags and coffee sachets outside our room, which made the whole stay feel quite awkward.

The host was quite unpleasant. Initially, she wouldn't give us drinking water. Her attitude towards our driver and us was also rude. We had safety worries as well; she turned off the lights in our room in the middle of the night, and when we confronted her, she seemed to panic and switched them back on. This made us very suspicious about our safety and her intentions. Additionally, there was no soap in the bathroom, and she wouldn’t provide any, so we had to purchase our own. The AC remote was inoperative, and the air conditioning was set to 16°. We struggled to turn it on and off whenever we got too cold.
