    Terrible Security Staff Behavior

The security staff were truly awful. They lack communication skills and treat people very poorly, consistently showing disrespect. I was extremely disappointed by how they handled the situation with us; it was very, very bad.

    Poor Communication and Service

The hospital struggles with clear communication and guidance for its patients. Even if systems are in place, they are not executed well, resulting in confusion and frustration for those seeking help. The security staff often come across as unprofessional and, at times, rude. Meanwhile, the medical staff seem unsure about how to direct patients to the right departments. Long waiting times and delays are frequent, and the lack of empathy displayed by the staff only worsens the experience for patients.

    Terrible experience with rude staff

This place is the worst! I've never encountered such rude people. I sent my brothers to fetch water for an emergency, and they were held near the gate for a long time, being shouted at with disrespectful language. Outsiders, who weren't even security, began yelling awful things at my father too!

    Disorganization and Rude Staff

The hospital seems to struggle with providing clear instructions and effective communication. Even though there may be structured systems in place, they aren't conveyed well, leading to a feeling of disorganization and a lack of courtesy. Security staff often come across as unnecessarily rude to visitors, and many employees appear unsure of how to guide patients to the right departments. The appointment management and scheduling process is quite inefficient, causing patients to wait for hours before they receive treatment. Additionally, some staff members display an attitude that lacks empathy towards patients’ health issues, which might stem from their frequent exposure to critical and life-threatening situations.

    Service Lacks in Cleanliness

The staff provided good service, but the cleanliness fell far short of acceptable standards. In my friend's experience, the doctor attempted to perform surgery despite his reports clearly showing that he did not have appendicitis. This raises serious concerns about why such actions were taken.

Helpful staff in a busy hospital

Located in the center of Negambo, this hospital welcomes visitors from outside. The staff is very supportive and accommodating. However, the layout is quite large, which makes navigating the pathways challenging. The clinics are situated at the far end of the facility. Near the main entrance, there is a cafeteria and a small milk bar. Be prepared for a very crowded environment.

    Disheartening experience at the hospital

This hospital is the worst! My son was admitted to ward 4 after a snake bite, and for no apparent reason, one of the nurses started a confrontation with me. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but that shouldn't have involved us. Even the following day, she raised her voice in the middle of the ward, and when I tried to defend myself, other nurses verbally attacked me, claiming I was interrupting their work. A policeman named Samantha took me to the hospital police without a female officer present and attempted to file a false complaint against me. After 24 exhausting hours, I felt utterly humiliated, even for simply speaking English, which I am comfortable with. Thankfully, an officer named Chathura Dilanka stepped in, and I was able to explain the situation. He understood and resolved everything. However, the policeman Samantha took my ID and wrote down my address. To anyone responsible reading this, please encourage your staff to exhibit empathy and respect. I doubt some of the hospital staff even understand what empathy means. They may have viewed me as insignificant, but I am an English teacher at a respected school in Negombo. I'm sharing this for everyone who has faced rudeness from hospital staff. Being empathetic is a crucial part of their job. Please remember that what goes around comes around.

Decent hospital experience with some issues

Similar to typical government hospitals, the cleanliness here is just average. The building has eight floors, and we stayed in ward no 21, which was kept quite tidy. However, the washrooms could use better cleaning. The staff were friendly and offered helpful assistance. There's no parking on the hospital grounds, but there is plenty of private parking available nearby. Only two visitors are allowed to see the patient.

    Poor experience with unprofessional doctor

Did some people really become doctors by paying money? My mother discovered the OPD's black number and visited the doctor there because the clinic's book had been ruined by flood water. She requested a letter, but when we asked her for her phone number to facilitate this, she refused. Consequently, she did not provide the letter and instead scolded us. If a doctor isn't competent, they shouldn't prescribe medication to the ill. Next time, I'll make sure to expose you.
