    Communication Issues During Check-In

We booked our stay through Booking.com and showed up for check-in at around 3:30 pm. Unfortunately, we learned that the previous guests hadn't checked out yet. There was no advance notice about this delay, which was quite disappointing. The staff took down my phone number and assured me they would notify me when the room was ready, but I never received that call. This added unnecessary hassle and uncertainty after a long journey. While the property itself might be appealing, the poor communication and check-in management really impacted our experience. Improved coordination and timely updates could significantly enhance guest satisfaction.

    Convenient stay in Galle Fort

I had a nice stay at this hotel located in the center of Dutch Fort Galle. The rooms were clean, though a bit on the small side, which is reasonable given the price. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. The receptionist was very welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable stay right in the heart of Galle Fort.

    Great location but some drawbacks

This place has an amazing location right in the center of Colombo Fort, making it easy to explore the area on foot. However, the room is quite dark with no natural light, and I was disappointed to find no tea or coffee provided, as well as just shampoo instead of soap. Additionally, the lack of wifi in the rooms is quite frustrating. On a positive note, the two staff members are very friendly and accommodating.

    Decent Stay with Some Drawbacks

Overall, it's good but not exceptional. You get free bottles of water in your room and the location is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, though they struggle with English, making conversations challenging. The bathroom is equipped with a hot shower and toiletries, but you'll need to request a hairdryer. The reception area, which resembles a kitchen, isn't very comfortable. Additionally, the lack of soundproofing is an issue; you can hear everything from the hotel and other rooms, which makes it difficult for light sleepers to get a good night's rest.

    Poorly Maintained Property

Our stay at this property was one of the most disappointing experiences of our trip. The place was in terrible condition. The laundry area was located right by the entrance, our room wasn't cleaned properly, and we found cigarette ashes near the toilet. Even though we were two guests, we were given just one small face towel and a tiny soap. There was no hot water available, and the bedding had noticeable stains. To top it off, mosquitoes made it nearly impossible to get any sleep. The biggest issue was the lack of staff support. There was no one around to help, and both contact numbers we tried were ineffective—one went unanswered, and the other just kept ringing without anyone picking up, even while we were at the reception. In the morning, we were informed that there were no towels available and no resolution for the hot water situation. Aside from the location, there is absolutely nothing redeeming about this place. I strongly advise against staying here.

    Charming stay in Galle Fort

This lovely boutique hotel in Galle Fort offers a warm welcome from the friendly manager and staff. The rooms are impeccably clean, and the location is perfect, as everything is just a short walk away. I would certainly return here. Breakfast is available, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants and shops. The area feels very safe.

Charming colonial vibe at Galle Fort

I visited this beautiful spot with my dad. The location inside the fort walls of Galle Fort really captures that colonial feel. The hotel features wooden flooring and has a contemporary appearance as well. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

    Charming stay in Galle's fort

The location within the fort of Galle is fantastic, and the beautifully restored building and rooms really stand out. We loved the polished wooden floors, doors, roof beams, and furniture. Sleeping in the queen-sized bed with a mosquito net was a highlight, and the air conditioning and fan did a great job of keeping the room cool. While the room feels a bit small, the bathroom is quite large and modern. The streets can get busy, but we found the inside of the rooms to be very relaxing with minimal noise. We appreciated the balcony, though it would’ve been nice to have a chair or small table out there. The wifi was fast and reliable, although only accessible near the door, which allowed us to easily make video calls home. The staff were very friendly and even waited for our return at night.
