    Disappointing Policy for Tour Guides

    As a tourist guide, my main focus has always been the safety and comfort of my guests. However, my experience at Kingfisher Beach Hotel was quite disappointing. For the first time, I faced a policy that obligates guides and drivers to buy a ticket to accompany our guests to events. This not only makes it difficult for us to perform our roles, but it also diminishes the overall experience for our guests. Due to this, I will not be bringing any guests back to this hotel in the future. I strongly encourage the hotel to rethink this policy to better support the guides who prioritize guest safety.

    Great stay with lovely views

    Our stay here was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful, and we gladly accepted a room swap for a better view, which we really appreciated. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the manager was attentive and kind. Unlike many others, we didn’t encounter the noisy party they complained about, and we would definitely stay here again.

    Poor Management Detracts from Experience

    I’ve noticed several negative reviews about the same manager, and I can see why. My friends and I decided to check out the beach parties at Kingfisher over the weekend. We politely inquired if we could bring our own bottle and pay a corkage fee since they didn’t have the type of alcohol we wanted. The manager on duty flatly refused, and it wasn’t due to any policy—it was the way he handled the situation that was disappointing. I understand that every place has rules that customers should abide by, but the manager's attitude and ego showed a significant lack of customer focus. Instead of providing an explanation or suggesting an alternative, he turned away a group of 10 paying customers, resulting in a loss of business. In today’s hospitality landscape, flexibility and care for customers are essential, but this manager seemed oblivious to that. Consequently, we redirected our group and spending to Never Mind in Ahangama, where they allow BYOB and offer a much friendlier atmosphere. I highly recommend it as a great alternative. Until Kingfisher changes its management or approach, I don’t see myself returning.

    Pleasant stay but underwhelming overall

    As someone who travels frequently (I've visited over 100 countries and consider myself adaptable), I found this hotel fell short of what I expected. The staff were welcoming, and the location is perfect as it's right on the beach. Our room was spacious and comfortable, offering a nice experience overall.

    Great beach location and friendly staff

    This place has a fantastic location with beautiful rooms and reasonable prices. It's very relaxing to enjoy the sand beneath your feet at the beach restaurant, and just a few steps away, you can hop onto the beach and into the water. They offer a good breakfast to kick off your day, and Pradeep, the restaurant manager, is delightful and has a fun personality! It does get a bit noisy on weekends, but that's expected in a party area. The staff was consistently helpful and friendly. I look forward to returning!🌸💖🌸

    Pleasant stay at Kingfisher hotel

    I stayed at the Kingfisher hotel on December 14, 2025, and it was a delightful experience. I was fortunate to be in a room from the newly opened wing, which had just launched a week prior. The design of the rooms was impressive, offering plenty of space and a great atmosphere. Above all, it was very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly, including Priyantha, Sachintha, and Sampath. The bartender and everyone else were equally nice. Mr. Duminda, the owner, was present and showed great hospitality. I would definitely recommend this place. Oh, and breakfast was fantastic too. The location is superb.

    Great food, but room issues

    The food and service were fantastic. However, the rooms could really use some shampoo, conditioner, and possibly body soap. I spent five nights there and my room wasn’t cleaned at all. I also found out the hotel was undergoing construction without any prior notice. There’s no pool available, but one is on the way.
