We took a cooking class here and I can’t recommend it enough – definitely a 10/10! We prepared four vegetarian dishes as part of a small group. The price was quite reasonable, and the ingredients were very authentic, with some even being homegrown on their property.

We had a wonderful stay at Silloam, but there were quite a few noises from the street while we were trying to sleep, including dogs and cars. Additionally, there was an unpleasant sewer smell in the bathroom. On the positive side, the host was fantastic and the breakfast was excellent!

Priyanga was an incredible host! She responded quickly via WhatsApp and maintained excellent communication even before our arrival, which set the tone for our enjoyable stay. The entire place was spotlessly clean. We adored our spacious, bright room, featuring a very comfortable bed, efficient air conditioning, and tea/coffee making facilities. The large wet room-style bathroom was great, and the giant floor squeegee for cleaning up after showers was a thoughtful touch! Every morning, Priyanga prepared the most delightful Sri Lankan breakfast, serving it to our balcony at our preferred time. Each day brought a new and delicious spread, and the amount was generous! Enjoying breakfast on the balcony with a view of the rainforest was definitely the highlight of our visit. On one occasion, we had to leave early for a trip, and Priyanga kindly prepared a packed breakfast so we wouldn't miss out. Priyanga's mum also took care of some laundry for us, which came back beautifully ironed at a very reasonable price. In terms of location, the property is far enough from the hustle and bustle of Ella but still within a short walk to various restaurants, cafés, Little Adam’s Peak, and Nine Arch Bridge. It's worth mentioning that the property is situated on a main road and has a gym directly above it. However, the gym only operates from 7am to 9pm and will be relocating soon. Aside from the stunning view from the balcony, Priyanga truly makes this place special. She speaks excellent English and is incredibly accommodating. We wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend Ella Silloam.

The property was stunning and our room offered an amazing view. It felt like a peaceful and secure environment. The owner was incredibly friendly and easy to converse with. Breakfast was authentically homemade and very healthy. The location is conveniently walkable to several tourist attractions and the main shopping area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it to others.

This was the best hotel experience we've ever had! Our room was spacious, tidy, and comfortable. The balcony view was wonderful, and having breakfast there was a delightful perk. The location is ideal, situated away from the noisy center, with a 20-minute walk to both the Nine Arches and Little Adams Peak. Priyanga, our host, was absolutely incredible; she's a smart and kind person. She helped us with our laundry, arranged a scooter for us, and provided great recommendations for local attractions. Since she owns the gym above, we enjoyed a 50% discount, and it was immaculate with all the necessary equipment. As if that wasn’t enough, she even drove us halfway to Yala and organized a taxi for the rest of the trip. An outstanding woman and a wonderful place to stay. We are very appreciative and highly recommend everyone to choose this hotel! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was ideal – close to everything yet still peaceful and relaxing. Our room offered a stunning view, making it a joy to wake up every morning. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and abundant, with options for everyone. Priyanga was an incredibly kind host. She greeted us with tea upon our arrival and inquired about our plans. Then, she spent half an hour detailing various activities and directions. She shared information about several waterfalls and provided routes to reach them. All of her suggestions were spot on. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the balcony offered a stunning view. We enjoyed walking into town every evening, and Ella quickly became one of our favorite spots; we wished we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was tasty and varied over our two-day stay. This place was truly worth the price.

I can only speak highly of our experience at Ella Silloam. Priyanga was a wonderful, kind, and generous host. Our room was spacious, and the balcony offered a stunning view of the forest and the path to the Nine Arches Bridge. Each morning, we enjoyed watching a variety of birds right outside. The breakfast was also top-notch. Priyanga has a deep understanding of the local area, Sri Lankan cuisine, herbs, and plants, and I gained a lot of knowledge from her. She even assisted me with a burn on my arm by providing ice-cold fresh aloe vera and bandaging it, which really helped me get a good night's sleep. Our stay was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend it.
