    Disappointing room quality despite good views

    Our stay was decent, but we were relieved to leave. Although the views and breakfast were enjoyable, and the location is conveniently near town, we were let down by the room's condition. An awful sewage smell wafted from the toilet, forcing us to keep the door closed and hold our noses while using it. The building felt poorly constructed, almost like a DIY project—doors were hard to lock, tiles were awkwardly placed, and wood surfaces were in unsuitable wet areas. This made the room seem quite dirty. Additionally, the bedding, sofa, and chairs felt cheap and unclean. The online photos were misleading, as they looked much better than our reality, unless you opt for the suite. Overall, it felt overpriced for the quality provided.

    Wonderful stay at Ella Country House

    We had a fantastic time at Ella Country House. Although heavy rain delayed our arrival, the host was accommodating and made our late check-in process smooth. The room was immaculate, exuding an upscale vibe with a bathtub and a beautiful balcony view — we only regretted not arriving sooner to soak in the evening scenery. There was a brief power outage, but the generator activated, ensuring our comfort. Breakfast was unforgettable and one of the highlights of our trip. The property is conveniently located within walking distance of Ella’s main street and is easily accessible for tuk-tuks and cabs. A special shoutout to Dhiwakar for assisting with a rental bike and being incredibly helpful throughout our stay — highly recommended.

    Fantastic stay in Ella!

    Our stay in Ella was truly amazing! It was conveniently located within walking distance of downtown, offered stunning views, was spotless, and included a lovely breakfast served on our patio. I would highly recommend this place if you're visiting the area!

    We enjoyed our stay at Ella Country House immensely. It's ideally situated for all the activities you want to experience in Ella, and the staff is fantastic, ready to assist with anything you need. Having breakfast on our balcony each morning while soaking in the stunning views truly enhanced our visit.

    Charming stay at Ella Country House

    Our experience at Ella Country House was wonderful! The hosts were incredibly friendly and always eager to assist. The location is perfect for exploring Ella town, and the view from our room was amazing. Plus, the beds were extremely comfortable.

    Great stay with minor drawbacks

    The rooms are very clean and spacious, featuring a big bathroom. The balcony offers a breathtaking view. Breakfast is quite tasty, including tea, coffee, and juice, and the staff is very active and helpful. However, be prepared for a few steps to climb; those with leg pain should take caution. Aside from that, I found my stay nearly perfect. On the downside, I struggled with the lack of a cupboard to hang clothes and the pillows were a bit too firm for my liking. Everything else was good. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and souvenir shops nearby. Just a heads up, occasionally monkeys might visit the balcony.

    Beautiful guesthouse with great views

    This guesthouse was absolutely beautiful, featuring breathtaking panoramic views of Ella Rock and the countryside from the large balcony and the room's floor-to-ceiling windows. The room itself was quite spacious, and we enjoyed having breakfast delivered right to our balcony.

    Great stay at Ella Country House

    We had a wonderful experience at Ella Country House. The owner, Harrisana, kindly picked us up from our previous place in Udawalawe and later drove us to our next hotel in Kandy. He is a very safe and thoughtful driver. The breakfasts, which were delicious, were made by his wife, and our room was cozy with an amazing view. The location is just a five-minute walk from the bustling main street of Ella, and even though it borders the main road, noise wasn't an issue. The family welcomed us warmly and took great care of us. We would happily come back again.
