The hospital experience was disappointing. The staff were not friendly and seemed unable to communicate with customers. We definitely won't be returning to this hospital. 😡😡😡 It's just not a good place.

My grandma visited the doctor, but when she went to take a number and returned, the nurse informed her that the doctor had left. It was a real waste of money.

I called ahead for 30 minutes and requested an English-speaking doctor. Upon my arrival, I was greeted and promptly taken to a doctor who had superb English skills and addressed all my inquiries. The pharmacy on-site was efficient, and I was in and out with my medication in just 30 minutes. The consultation cost 3,000 LKR, with half going to the hospital fee and a little over 1,000 LKR for some generic medications. I couldn't have asked for a better experience—thank you very much!

My wife was admitted to the hospital, and they provided exceptional care. The doctor and nurses paid close attention to our concerns and addressed the exact cause of her symptoms. The nurses were exceptionally kind and friendly, more so than at any other hospitals in Trincomalee. I highly recommend this place.

Hemavathy Hospital is situated right in the center of Trincomalee town, making it easily accessible. They offer a pharmacy and washroom facilities, and some staff members are genuinely kind and helpful. That said, there are significant problems that need addressing. There's a lack of adequate parking for patients, which poses a real challenge, particularly for the elderly. Time management is also problematic — we were instructed to arrive very early for both surgery and follow-up appointments, yet we experienced extensive delays. On the day of the surgery, the doctor was hours late, and the order of patients was altered without any explanation. Despite these issues, the hospital has promise due to its prime location and committed staff. I sincerely hope management will take action to enhance these services for a better experience for patients.

The name and signage suggest a full-service hospital, which sets expectations that simply aren’t met regarding available services, staff expertise, or emergency readiness. Facilities are lacking: There are only a handful of rooms, creating a crowded atmosphere that struggles to accommodate the patient load. This can result in delays and a feeling of being short-staffed. Room conditions are below par: The patient rooms feel more like motel accommodations than medical wards. They have outdated or cramped interiors, limited privacy, and cleanliness standards that fall short, all of which impact comfort and trust.

It felt like being in a government hospital, but with a price tag attached. The seating is limited and the place is quite crowded. The pharmacy staff member took an excessive amount of time since she was the only one working. Overall, the service was lacking.

I honestly believe the government hospital is superior to this one. This situation is absurd. We've been sitting here for more than two hours waiting to see the doctor, and when we inquired with the staff, they had no idea what was happening.
