    Great care from Dr. Jayarathna

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Amila Jayarathna. Right from my arrival, the staff made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Dr. Jayarathna explained every aspect of my maternal grandmother's eye exam and patiently addressed all my questions. Their professionalism, expertise, and meticulous attention to detail gave me complete confidence in my grandmother's treatment. My vision has improved a lot, and I’m genuinely grateful for the care I received. I highly recommend Dr. Amila Jayarathna to anyone seeking a skilled and caring eye specialist!

Highly skilled eye surgeon in Kandy

My experience with Dr. Amila has been quite different. He is among the most experienced eye surgeons in Kandy, which makes him very busy with a packed schedule throughout the day. I've seen him a few times, and he was usually punctual. His care for patients is excellent.

    Highly recommend Dr. Amila Jayarathna

Dr. Amila Jayarathna is the best doctor I've encountered. My grandfather lost his sight due to an injection from a doctor at the hospital. Both of his eyes were affected. We consulted various doctors in Kandy, but they all claimed they couldn't help. However, Dr. Amila Jayarathna believed he could assist, and my grandfather is showing improvement. He also doesn't seem to be motivated by money.

    Professional Eye Surgeon in Kandy

I came in for a consultation with the same doctor on the same day, and my appointment was scheduled for 7:30 PM. He arrived on time and was very professional. He is regarded as one of the best eye surgeons in Sri Lanka, possibly the top in Kandy. Being a government eye surgeon, it's tough to secure a meeting time before 4 PM. His regular channelling time at Asiri is always 6:30 PM on weekdays, and his popularity can sometimes lead to delays since he’s in high demand across the central province. However, he’s quite humble and informs the channeling authorities whenever he's running late. During Amila Sir’s channeling, he mentioned a surgery list starting at 9 PM that day, which might have been for a cataract patient. I doubt a surgery could be performed in just a few minutes, and it’s possible this individual arrived too early by mistake. In my opinion, Dr. Amila Jayarathna is the best cataract eye surgeon, known for excellent post-surgery vision outcomes.

    Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience

Dr. Amila Jayarathna is, without a doubt, the worst eye doctor I've ever met. He shows a complete lack of care and respect for his patients’ time, money, and wellbeing. Patients are instructed to arrive at Asiri Hospital by 2:30 PM, yet he doesn’t show up until around 9:30 PM. This results in people—many of whom are elderly or suffering—having to endure over 10 hours of waiting in long lines after already paying hefty fees for treatment. This isn’t just a delay; it reflects a total disregard for the dignity of patients. The situation between this doctor and Asiri Hospital feels like a shameful farce where patients are treated as mere numbers. It's utterly unacceptable.
