I was looking for a lunch spot after arriving in the area, and Sea Gem Restaurant came highly recommended. It certainly lived up to the hype. We enjoyed our meal in a covered outdoor area, right in front of a fan that kept us comfortable despite the heat. The lobster was exceptional. I would definitely come back if given the chance.

This restaurant is truly amazing. The food was delightful, and the owners are incredibly warm. I even had the chance to learn some cooking skills with Muthu. If you can spare a couple of hours, reach out to Muthu via WhatsApp to ask about a cooking lesson. She’s an excellent instructor, and even as a complete beginner, we created some delicious dishes together. I would highly recommend this place!

You have to check this place out. It's a charming restaurant run by a Sri Lankan family who actually lives on the premises. They're incredibly welcoming and make you feel like part of the family during your meal. The food was absolutely fantastic. We tried the pumpkin curry, chicken curry, and a whole grilled barracuda, all of which were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

It's situated a bit away from the busy main area, providing a wonderfully calm and welcoming atmosphere. This charming family-run restaurant features the owner’s wife as the chef, while their two lovely daughters help manage the operations. Plus, they have three adorable dogs, including Max, a golden retriever who is incredibly friendly! We decided on the egg curry with rice. Since everything is made fresh from scratch once you order, the owner recommended we take a 40-minute walk on the nearby beach while the food was being prepared. We were so hungry that we nearly changed our minds and went elsewhere while heading to the beach. I’m so glad we stuck with it! The food was nothing short of phenomenal—unlike anything I’ve ever had before. It easily ranks as the best dish I’ve enjoyed in Sri Lanka. While the meal was simple, the flavors and quality were outstanding and truly deserving of praise. If you're seeking an authentic, home-cooked Sri Lankan meal made with care, don't miss this place.
