    Exceptional Care at IMC Mirissa

    My experience at IMC Mirissa was truly exceptional. Although I was hospitalized for three days and was quite unhappy about it, especially since it was the end of my trip and I wanted to make the most of my time, the nurses helped me stay positive. They were always smiling, ready to assist, and truly went above and beyond. For instance, I have a fear of needles and can be challenging in that regard, but each nurse was so understanding and supportive. Additionally, they recognized my sweet tooth and brought me cake as a treat with my meal. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Having not seen my family in months, this was the closest I felt to their care, which meant a lot to me. Overall, I felt safe and well cared for, and I appreciate every staff member. Thank you!

    Exceptional Care at IMC MED Hospital

    During our cruise, my mom fell ill with a lung infection in Colombo, Sri Lanka, leading to her hospitalization for 12 days. On the 10th day, we had the pleasure of meeting two wonderful staff members from IMC MED, Ms. N.B. Disumi Onasha and S.A. Hasini Kavishka. They were incredibly supportive, helping us with insurance matters and ensuring our well-being. On my mom's 94th birthday, they surprised her with a lovely bouquet of flowers and a card upon her discharge. They even arranged transport to our hotel without accepting any payment. We are truly grateful for their assistance and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Thank you.

    Excellent care during a tough time

    I received treatment for acute gastroenteritis and found the staff to be very attentive. The facility is spotless, and if you're admitted, the rooms are quite nice. I highly recommend this place for tourists who might fall ill in the area. The cost to be seen is $40, which I believe is worth it given the staff's extensive experience. I was quite upset being alone and anxious about missing my flight, but the staff showed me a lot of kindness. One thing to keep in mind is that I had travel insurance; it could have been a costly situation without it. Also, if you don’t speak Sinhala, I suggest using Google Translate to help communicate some requests — that worked really well for me.

    Efficient and Professional Check-Up Experience

    My insurance company scheduled a general check-up for me at a time that worked well for me. The appointment was during lunchtime, and I only had to wait 10 minutes before being seen. They conducted blood tests and arranged for a specialist to see me that same evening. The staff demonstrated a very professional attitude throughout the visit. Hygiene standards were high during both check-ups, with all necessary protective equipment in use. They are available 24 hours a day, making access quite convenient.

    Exceptional Care at Medical Center

    I went to the International Medical Center in Mirissa after a run-in with a street dog. The staff was extremely professional and comforting. The doctor quickly gave me medical advice and administered my first rabies shot. The place was spotless, and the English-speaking team made all the paperwork hassle-free. They provided me with a rabies certificate and vaccination schedule, and even set up my second shot at my next location, which really helped ease my worries during a stressful time. I'm grateful for the excellent care and support in managing my vaccination schedule.

    Lack of Privacy During Consultations

    This place is incredibly unprofessional. Doctor consultations should be private between the patient and the doctor, but instead, the entire staff seems to be listening in. It's unnecessary for receptionists to hear our discussions, and it's distracting when they giggle and make faces while you're trying to talk about sensitive issues. Plus, the consultation 'room' doesn’t even provide real privacy! It’s appalling to treat patients who are paying $40 for a simple consultation like this.

    Significant Issues with Patient Care

    I had to go through a consultation before getting medication, even though I was just trying to get a prescription I've used for years. Meanwhile, the pharmacy was reportedly down due to a "system issue." It felt like the whole process was set up to push patients into paying for extra consultations, especially with so few options available on a public holiday. What worries me the most is that this isn't just a one-off experience. Many locals have voiced their concerns about poor communication, inconsistent service, added costs, and unprofessional conduct. I've heard multiple accounts from residents about questionable medical advice, worries regarding the quality of treatment, and surprise charges. These ongoing issues have seriously eroded trust in this facility. Healthcare providers should prioritize assisting patients, ensuring clear communication, and treating everyone with dignity. Unfortunately, both my experience and those of many others indicate that this medical center has significant issues that need management's attention. I can't recommend this place until there are substantial improvements in customer service, professionalism, transparency, and patient care.

    I received excellent service when I visited for x-rays and a plaster cast for my broken wrist.
