Charming historical spot with great food
The Sanctuary at Tissawewa is a hidden treasure rich in history, previously utilized by a former British governor in the early 1900s. The expansive grounds feature a lovely garden with peacocks wandering about, enhancing the tranquil and beautiful setting. The food is outstanding, especially breakfast, which offers a diverse range of home-cooked dishes to satisfy various preferences. The prices are quite fair, making it an excellent value for the quality and experience provided. The staff is very attentive and friendly, always eager to help with a smile. Additionally, the location is easy to reach from the city and is conveniently situated near many sacred sites in the holy city of Anuradhapura. I strongly recommend The Sanctuary at Tissawewa for anyone seeking a combination of history, nature, and superb hospitality.
