During our week in Trincomalee, we visited the Blue Sand Beach Resort daily. Khan was always very friendly and his English was impressive. The food was delightful, and whenever we requested extra ice for our drinks, it was brought to us right away. All the staff were attentive, and the restrooms were kept impeccably clean.

The food was tasty, the staff were attentive, and the location is fantastic. Although we didn't stay at Blue Sands, we visited daily to dine at their restaurant and relax on their sun loungers. Situated on a beautiful stretch of beach, we even saw cows strolling by each afternoon. Prices for drinks and meals were fair, and the convenience of being able to pay by card was a nice touch. I would definitely suggest this place for a beach day in Trinco. The bean bags are a lot of fun, and the staff brought drinks straight to us on the beach.

The service left much to be desired, and I found it odd that they presented us with two menus featuring different prices without explaining the difference. I was looking at the older menu, unaware of the change, and ended up ordering items thinking I was paying the old prices, only to be charged more. The staff didn’t seem to care about this at all. While the location is nice and the food is good, I don't think I would return because of the unfriendly service.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the bellboy promptly took our bags and brought them to our room. However, the room itself was a letdown. We've stayed at much better and cheaper hotels during our trip. For $243 for two nights, we expected more! The room was cramped, and every towel was stained with dirt and even blood. The bathroom was particularly unsanitary, with a trash can that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, covered in grime. The shower had mold and a foul smell, especially around the drain. We raised these concerns at the front desk, and they quickly arranged for a cleaning. Unfortunately, the towels were still stained, and the bathroom remained dirty. We were close to demanding a full refund! After discussing the issues with the manager, we got another cleaning, which finally provided us with clean towels and a better drain. The trash can, however, was still ignored. On a positive note, the restaurant had friendly staff, though the service could use improvement; our table was cluttered with used plates that the waiter didn’t clear until we handed them to him. A tip: if asked whether to pay before or after, always choose to pay after to avoid any issues getting your money back!

During my holiday in Sri Lanka, I had dinner at the Blue Sand Beach Resort in Trincomalee, and I found it quite disappointing. Customer treatment is just as important as the meal itself. The real issue wasn't the price but rather the owner's demeanor. A simple respectful response could have improved the situation, even if we didn’t agree on the cost. Sadly, this interaction left a very negative impression on me. Because of this unpleasant experience, I won’t be returning to the restaurant or recommending it to friends and family.

The food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable and budget-friendly. The hotel is located right on the beachfront, which was fantastic. Watching the sunrise there was truly picture-perfect.

The location is fantastic! 🤩 However, the team that runs this place is quite disappointing. 😣 They lack understanding of hospitality and service, which has left me feeling really let down by the management.
