Quick and Friendly Refund Process

I made a reservation at this hotel for an upcoming holiday and paid an advance. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip, so I reached out to the hotel to request a refund for my booking. Great stay at Trincomalee hotel

This is the best hotel in Trincomalee. The staff is very polite and accommodating. The rooms are fresh, sparkling clean, and feature comfortable beds with new, quiet air conditioning. There's good water pressure and hot water available around the clock. They provide tea, coffee, and a hot pot as well. Dutch Bay city beach is a 15-20 minute walk away, and there’s a popular Doner cafe right in front of the hotel, along with several small local cafes nearby. Additionally, a market is just a 7-minute walk from here.

Great family room experience

We booked the Deluxe Family Room, which was perfect for four people. The room was roomy, tidy, and cozy, equipped with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a wardrobe, and chairs, covering all our needs. We particularly liked having tea and coffee-making facilities available whenever we wanted. They also organized delicious meals and a small day trip around Trinco for a reasonable price. Overall, it was a seamless and pleasant experience.

Great Stay at Blackthorn!

Comfortable Stay in Deluxe Room

Two of us spent three days in the Deluxe King Room and found the bed to be enormous and very comfortable. It was definitely spacious enough for two adults and a child without any problems. The room itself was clean and pleasant. The owner was helpful and attentive during our stay.

Mixed feelings about this stay

I was swayed by the positive reviews, but I can't say I have one of my own. While the rooms are relatively new, the windows are not in great shape. If you're in a front-facing room, it gets incredibly noisy at night, and mosquitoes and other bugs can easily come in because the windows don't close properly. Using the shower turns the entire bathroom into a small swimming pool. The rooms are quite cramped, so traveling with more than one person can feel very tight. The location is decent, but not ideal; it’s neither near the beach nor in a quiet area, although having a supermarket nearby (Cargills) was a plus for us. The owner is very friendly, but I wouldn’t suggest this place for your stay in Trinco…

Pleasant hotel stay in city center

My stay at the hotel was quite enjoyable. The place was spotless, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I spent two weeks there with my kids, and its central location made getting around easy. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a good stay at a reasonable price.

Comfortable stay with minor issues

I had a wonderful experience at the Blackthorn Hotel. The room exceeded my expectations in comfort, and the bathroom was immaculate. Being a newly constructed property is definitely a significant advantage. However, I was a bit let down when we left the room; we kept the AC running due to the heat outside, but a staff member turned it off during the day without telling us, only to switch it back on when we returned. It would be better if they could communicate this or avoid it altogether. Overall, we had a great stay and are looking forward to returning this November.

Great stay at a welcoming hotel
