This place is fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They provided us with excellent service, leaving us very satisfied. We will certainly recommend this spot to everyone. The sunrise view from our room was absolutely breathtaking.

Woody Crest provides a fantastic retreat for anyone in search of serenity. Although it takes a bit of effort to get to nearby restaurants and the beach, the peaceful vibe and cozy accommodations make it an excellent spot to unwind and rejuvenate. If you’re after a quiet getaway and don’t mind being slightly distanced from the hustle and bustle, this hotel is a solid option. I’d suggest this hotel to those looking for a calm and soothing escape. It’s perfect for travelers who value tranquility and are okay with a short drive to dining and beach access. However, if you need to be right in the center of the action, you might want to consider a different location.

We had a horrible experience and I cannot recommend this "hotel" at all. We booked a two-night stay and traveled six hours by bus from Jaffna for a weekend in Trincomalee. By the time we arrived in the morning, we were completely exhausted, only to find that Woody Crest Hotel had sent us a cancellation request at midnight, just hours before we got there! Prior to our arrival, we had received messages about WiFi, a 24-hour reception, and other details about our accommodation. However, when we arrived, the place was deserted. There was no one around, no one picked up the phone, and clearly, there was no 24-hour reception as promised. When we finally managed to contact them via message, the only response was, "sorry, your room is under reconstruction." This was obviously a lie, as there was nobody at the "hotel" at all. I even sent another message asking if they were joking and what we were supposed to do next, but they completely ignored me. A few hours later, instead of assisting us, they requested a 5-star review for our "delightful stay."

We spent one night and arrived earlier than we planned. Even before our request for an early check-in was addressed, the hotel graciously let us check in about six hours ahead of time. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was both spacious and clean. While the hotel is somewhat isolated, it's just a short 400-meter walk to the beach. The breakfast was basic but adequate and included in the price. However, we were disturbed at 07:30 in the morning, which did impact our sleep.

This is a solid hotel choice. While there are a few small problems in the rooms, they are easily forgivable given the price. We appreciated our stay in the top floor room, which featured panoramic windows, a fridge, and a kettle. Initially, the air conditioner wasn’t functioning properly when we checked in. After switching rooms, the owner promptly resolved the issue the same day, allowing us to return to our original room. If we find ourselves back in Trincomalee, we would certainly choose to stay here again.

First off, the access to the location is not ideal—it’s a dirt road riddled with potholes. We drove a small car and opted to park at the entrance to avoid any damage. The rooms didn’t resemble what was shown in the majority of the pictures; they were smaller and lacked good views. The ones with balconies overlooked a field where trash is dumped, and that’s the better option, as one of our rooms was on the ground floor with a sliding door that led directly to a neglected garden. Both rooms were unclean and had a strong musty smell. We were short on towels, and when we asked for more, we only received two for our group of four. The most unpleasant surprise was when I dropped my phone between the bed and the base, only to discover an unopened condom pack there. It was quite disgusting. Regarding breakfast, we received no information. On our first morning, we were abruptly awakened at 7:15 a.m. by someone knocking on the window to deliver a tray of pancakes. Communication with the staff, who consisted of just one person, was lacking since he spoke very little English. Overall, it was a disappointing place to stay. Additionally, it’s not exactly inexpensive compared to other options. It doesn't live up to the photos, and the issues with cleanliness and communication make it hard to recommend.

We're currently enjoying our time at the Woody Crest Hotel and are really pleased with our choice in Trincomalee. It's only a short walk to the most beautiful beach, and Hari, the staff member here, is incredibly kind. 🙏🏼 He prepares a delicious breakfast for us each morning and is always very polite. When we arrived, we asked him for some water, and he promptly went to the neighbor to fetch some for us. Overall, we’re very happy and would definitely return. 😁

We had an amazing time here! After arriving on the night train, we were pleasantly surprised to check in much earlier than we had anticipated – a real relief following our long trip. A big shoutout to Harriharan, who greeted us so warmly and made everything happen. The room was tidy and comfortable, the location is excellent (peaceful yet just a quick ride to the city), and the breakfast, priced at only 800 LKR, was truly delicious and worth every penny. Overall, a fantastic experience – highly recommend it!

Hariharan has been exceptionally accommodating and friendly, always available with a warm smile. He welcomed us and fulfilled every request we made. The breakfast was tasty, and he took the time to explain the barbecue options, even persuading us to give it a try! He’s the best hotel manager we've encountered on our trip to Sri Lanka. His presence has greatly enhanced our stay. Thank you!

We spent a night here during our visit to Trinco. The room was spotless, and the service was exceptional. Hari greeted us warmly and was genuinely concerned about our comfort and convenience, always quick to respond to our needs. This place feels like a guest house or homestay, which is great for those looking for that vibe. The location was fantastic as well, conveniently close to routes leading to the temple. The only minor drawback was the 150m stretch leading to the hotel, which isn’t paved. Overall, everything else was great for the price we paid. Keep up the excellent work, Mr. Hari! Thank you once again 🙏🏻
