Just a two-minute walk from the beach, this place features spacious rooms and a lovely garden. The breakfast was fantastic. We opted for a room without air conditioning, but the fans provided were sufficient. The price for this room offered excellent value. Additionally, the owners were very friendly and helpful. We also utilized the laundry service, which was perfectly adequate.

This family-run establishment has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are kept clean and tidy, and the beds are comfortable. However, the bathroom lacks hot water, which was a downside. There isn't a restaurant on-site, but the family prepares a delicious breakfast. The beach is only a 2-3 minute walk down a lane next to the hotel.

We spent three nights at Sea Shadow and I can definitely recommend this spot! The rooms are tidy, the rates are reasonable, and the owners are very warm and accommodating. You can also rent a scooter at a good rate and join a private jeep tour that takes you far off the usual paths. One resident guest conducts these tours and has incredible knowledge about Sri Lanka and the Trincomalee area, including hidden temples, ancient sites, and places to see wild elephants and other wildlife.

We had a fantastic time here for 8 days and truly felt at home. The owner and the staff were incredibly friendly. There’s a charming cat in the garden, and we enjoyed chatting with the lovely guests. Plus, the beach and restaurants are only a 3-minute walk away. We wholeheartedly recommend this place.

This place is conveniently located near restaurants and the beach. The owner is incredibly kind and offered assistance without us even asking. We were able to do our laundry for a reasonable price, and he helped us get drinking water and provided an extra fan. Huge thanks to him, you’re the best! The room price is fantastic. While the room is basic and clean, featuring a cold water shower, it’s manageable given the daytime heat.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and ensured our experience was enjoyable—he even gathered fresh coconuts right from the palm tree for the kids, who absolutely loved it. Plus, the location couldn't be better, as it's conveniently situated near the beach and several restaurants.

We had an amazing experience at Hotel Sea Shadow! Our host was incredible, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect—from organizing our snorkeling trip to Angel Rock to providing us with fresh king coconuts that he prepared for us to enjoy. He made us feel truly welcome, and the room was fantastic as well—spacious with excellent air conditioning. Our time in Uppuveli was unforgettable, and we highly recommend Hotel Sea Shadow to anyone visiting the area. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Trincomalee. The location was excellent, close to both the town and the beach. Our host was incredibly kind, going out of his way to bring us fresh coconuts when we mentioned we didn't know where to find a good one. The rooms were tidy and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We had a wonderful time! :)
