Terrible experience with cancelled appointment

I strongly advise against visiting this hospital. I am appalled by the subpar service I experienced. I had an appointment with Dr. Kishara Gunarathne scheduled for April 12th at 9:00 AM, for which I had already made the full payment. Yet, just 50 minutes before my appointment at 8:10 AM, I was informed that it had been cancelled because the doctor was on leave. My wife and I had traveled a long distance to get there, making this a very frustrating situation. I had to return home empty-handed. They should have checked with the doctor before allowing bookings, and I was forced to make numerous calls and reminders just to get my refund. This is the worst hospital I've ever encountered. Don’t assume your appointment is secure just because you’ve paid in full; it’s clear why this hospital has so many negative reviews. I wish I had read them before booking my appointment.

Exceptional Care and Support

I traveled from Kandy to this hospital to consult with Dr. Niriella regarding my mom's medical condition. Although the online appointments showed that all slots were filled, I only had one day before my flight to see the doctor. The staff recognized my urgency and went above and beyond to help me secure an extra appointment. I'm grateful to the entire team and the doctor for assisting my mom in receiving the necessary medical care. Highly recommended ❤️

The staff is well-trained and friendly, ensuring everything runs smoothly. There are spacious waiting areas and clean restrooms, which is a plus. The outpatient department, laboratory, and pharmacy provide convenient services for patients. However, the lack of a proper parking area can be a bit of a hassle.

Excessive Wait Times for Patients

Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience

Dr. Prasad Katulanda has a persistent issue with being on time. Even though patients arrive punctually and wait patiently, he frequently shows up very late for his channeling appointments at CDEM Hospital, demonstrating a total disregard for the time, commitments, and well-being of his patients. Some individuals end up waiting for hours without any proper explanation or apology. To make matters worse, the staff who accompany him appear to lack any sense of responsibility or appreciation for patients' time. There is a complete absence of effective communication, organization, or concern for those who are left waiting. Patients don’t come for entertainment; they arrive with health concerns, stress, and demanding schedules. Such unprofessional conduct is simply unacceptable in the medical profession. I strongly recommend that others avoid scheduling with this doctor if you care about your time and peace of mind. There are plenty of other doctors who value their patients and operate their practices professionally. This experience was a total waste of time and incredibly frustrating and disappointing! 👎👎
