Discriminatory pricing for foreigners

This clinic has a serious issue with racism! I chose it because the doctor claimed to be experienced and spoke English. However, no one could assist me on the phone; they simply refused to communicate with English speakers and kept saying they were closed. When I arrived, they quoted me 4000 for a service (it should have been 3400 plus 400, totaling 3800), but when I pointed out the error, they changed the 400 to 600, still making it 4000. I noticed that locals were paying only 2000 (which is 1600 plus 400). When I approached the window to clarify the pricing, they bluntly told me, "FOR FOREIGNERS, THE PRICE IS 4000." I struggled to comprehend why this was the case—I have the same two hands, one head, and I work hard for my money just like everyone else. The only difference is my country of birth. I requested to speak with Dr. Kannangara, but he never came out to address the situation. In the end, they refunded my money (at least there's that) after wasting an hour of my time waiting in line with no guidance. Overall, it was the most unacceptable experience I've ever had. I would NOT recommend this place or Dr. Kannangara.

Mixed feelings about the service

I had a disappointing experience at first. The consultant wasn’t really a consultant. If you're seeking advice for a health issue, this isn't the place to go. The doctor seemed rushed and spoke sarcastically. He didn’t provide any real advice, just prescribed some medications. However, a year later, I've changed my mind somewhat. Although his approach to service felt harsh, the medications he prescribed were effective. He suggested branded medicines, and they have nearly cured my skin condition and provided me with relief.

Lackluster Experience at the Clinic

Despite the doctor's solid experience, the overall facilities leave much to be desired. You can't pay the channeling fee using debit or credit cards. Additionally, the pharmacy staff takes about half an hour to assist, as you have to wait for the pharmacist to come from the consultation room. This is quite inconvenient. Given the current market conditions, I can't recommend their services. I hope improvements will be made.

Horrible Experience with Consultant

I had a truly terrible experience. He isn't a consultant; he's more like a monster. I visited him due to my acne and acne scars, but instead of help, he just laughed at me and called his staff over to look at my face, making me feel like an ugly duckling. I ended up crying that day. After doing some research online, I learned that my scars could actually be treated. To make matters worse, he sold me a cream for RS.5000 that turned out to be completely useless. Shame on you!

Disappointing experience with skin treatment

I visited this doctor six months ago for itchy dry skin on my legs and hands, trusting him because he successfully treated my acne a few years prior. Unfortunately, this time he didn't thoroughly examine my skin; he didn't even look at my legs or the dry patches. Instead of investigating the underlying problem, he simply treated me based on my description of "dry skin." He prescribed a lotion and some medications that cost me around Rs. 30,000, and I ended up with a large rash on my leg. I cannot recommend this doctor.

Effective Treatment for Skin Rash

I traveled all the way from Badulla. I had a skin rash for a long time and had been treated by a specialist there, but it didn't work. He prescribed medicine that cost 4800/=. However, after just one use, I saw the best results. Thank you, doctor. Additionally, a friend of mine had a skin rash for 20 years, and this doctor treated him as well, and he’s doing great now.

Discriminatory Pricing and Poor Care

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE; it’s a COMPLETE SCAM. They don’t prioritize health and are solely focused on making money, which is really disappointing to witness. They charge different rates based on skin color! For brown skin, it’s 3500 LKR, while for white skin, it’s 7500 LKR. I might understand a slight markup for tourists, but after living here for 10 years on a resident visa, earning in rupees, and even hiring locals, this doctor still refuses to listen and would rather you leave than provide care. I’ve never encountered this kind of attitude from a doctor before. If you’re just out to make a fortune from patients, maybe you should consider a different career. There are far more skilled and compassionate doctors in Colombo.

Exceptional dermatology experience

I highly recommend Dr. Kannangara for anyone struggling with skin issues. I first visited him in 2022 for a serious skin problem I had developed after consulting more than five other doctors who couldn't diagnose it. During my initial appointment, Dr. Kannangara recognized my condition as a rare skin disorder, and his treatment provided immediate results for me.

Avoid this place for skin treatment

I cannot recommend this at all. I paid 3500/- twice just for my wife to have consultations with the doctors, and then they charged us 27,000/- for creams, face wash, and tablets aimed at treating her dark marks and pimples. However, after three weeks, we've seen no improvement—in fact, the pimples and dark marks have only gotten worse. I urge others not to waste their money, time, or health on this.
