    Efficient visit for rabies booster

I visited today to receive my second rabies booster dose. The entire process took roughly 20 minutes. Although the hospital is quite big and can be a bit disorienting, asking for directions helps you navigate swiftly! The staff were very friendly!

    Unprofessional Behavior at Kandy Hospital

I want to share my serious concerns about the conduct of both junior and senior gynecologists at Kandy National Hospital. The Consultant Gynecologist is the only one who demonstrates professionalism and integrity, while the other doctors in the department repeatedly disregard medical ethics. I've witnessed highly inappropriate behavior, including flirting and advances towards female patients. This is a serious breach of trust and ethics, especially in a gynecology ward. I'm alarmed by the actions of the doctors in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. The consultant is the only one who treats patients with respect and professionalism, while the rest fail to uphold medical ethics. I've seen them engage in unnecessary teasing and behave inappropriately with female patients. Such conduct is completely unacceptable in such a sensitive environment like the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.

    Unfriendly staff and poor explanations

The doctors here displayed incredibly rude behavior. They fail to provide clear explanations and seem disinterested in doing their jobs.

    Disappointing hospital experience

My child was rushed to the emergency department due to a syrup overdose, and I witnessed doctors treating him through ChatGPT. Meanwhile, my wife was admitted to the ward for a urinary infection. As a husband, I felt it was my responsibility to support her during this tough time, but the nurses' service was shockingly inadequate. Their attitude made it seem like they expected families to fend for themselves. While there are Buddha statues everywhere, the staff's humanity was noticeably absent. Is there genuinely a compassionate health service here, or are rules and regulations prioritized over care? It seems that new patients are forced to navigate these regulations more than they receive actual healthcare.

    Disappointing care for elderly patients

I am extremely disappointed with how my 71-year-old mother was treated during her hospital stay following leg surgery. Even if her surgery was labeled as "minor," elderly patients still need fundamental support, dignity, and compassionate care. Sadly, she lacked proper assistance in the ward. Patients weren't allowed to accompany her, and she did not receive sufficient help when she needed to use the washroom. When she asked for assistance, some staff members responded rudely and dismissively, with comments like "Why can't you do it yourself?" and "You are not that serious." No matter how busy the hospital may be, elderly patients should never feel like a burden when seeking help. Nursing care encompasses more than just medications and procedures; it also involves patient safety, empathy, and maintaining dignity. Additionally, I am alarmed by the hygiene conditions in the ward toilets. The facilities in Ward 22 and Ward 9 were filthy, foul-smelling, and seemed poorly cared for, with no proper cleaning during her stay. This is particularly concerning in a hospital setting where infection control and sanitation are vital. I hope the hospital authorities take these issues seriously and work on improving: - Respectful communication with patients - Support for elderly and post-surgery patients - Help with mobility and access to washrooms - Cleanliness and sanitation standards in the wards Patients and their families understand the pressures healthcare workers face, but basic compassion, cleanliness, and dignity should never be optional.
