Disappointing Visit After 25 Years
For the past 25 years, Bake House has been our go-to spot whenever we visit Kandy, but this time we left feeling disappointed and have decided not to return for meals in the future. On our last day in Kandy, we stopped by for a snack and ordered two portions of cheese along with a ham sandwich. While the sandwich looked nicely presented, it was served cold, and the fries were also cold and dark in color. I've had sandwiches all over the world, but I've never encountered a cold cheese sandwich. My wife didn’t enjoy her meal either, but I tried both and found the taste off. The next night, I ended up with food poisoning after eating just one sandwich and had to take medication, skipping food for an entire day. By morning, I felt terrible and ended up throwing up, feeling sick for the next two days. I've heard people warn against eating exposed food from bakeries that keep their shelves open, as the pastries and breads can be covered in dust and pollution. 🤦🤮 On another occasion, we had yellow rice that was just awful. Additionally, we dealt with a rude waiter who ignored us when we sought assistance. I reported this to the manager and ended up giving a generous tip to a waiter we liked, who seemed very grateful for it. Didn’t he know that? 😢 It’s important to serve fresh food and maintain a clean and tidy environment. 🤔💯
