We enjoyed every aspect of this establishment, from the warm welcome by our charming hosts, Rosie and Buddi (is that the right spelling?), to the consistently cheerful restaurant staff. The complimentary breakfast was quite fulfilling. We also appreciated our roomy and cozy accommodations.

This venue is now known as Fresh Wave!!!! My first impression here was quite negative due to an uncontrolled Rottweiler that rushed at guests and was not leashed. It startled us and a few other patrons. The service at this hotel leaves much to be desired. The receptionist was unhelpful with any requests. During my two-night stay, there was one day without hot water. I was told I could have breakfast until noon if I returned from a Whale Safari. However, when I went to the kitchen, they refused and said it wasn't an option! We only tried the restaurant for breakfast, which turned out to be quite nice. They offered good toasted bread instead of the usual low-quality toast.

We initially booked Wadiya for three nights but extended our stay by a couple more. We loved our room's location, as it was the closest to the beach. The laid-back staff were friendly and promptly arranged everything we needed, and at a reasonable price.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was decent, but the behavior of the restaurant manager during breakfast was surprisingly poor. On the positive side, breakfast was good, and I appreciated the hot shower, air conditioning, safe, fridge, and sunbed that were included. The location is very central, although it can get quite loud at times.

A group of volunteers and I spent two nights at the Wadiya guest house during our travels in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who consistently displayed kindness and friendliness throughout our stay.

I've stayed at this hotel twice, in 2015 and 2020, and I've enjoyed my visits. As shown in the picture, the room is tidy and offers a fantastic view, situated on the top floor, and it’s reasonably priced despite lacking a balcony. During my second stay, I dined at the restaurant three times. The food was generally good, but on the last night, the fish had an odd taste, almost like there was soap on the plate. I typically hesitate to write negative comments about hardworking staff, but one waiter first ignored me and then went as far as calling me a 'Liar,' which was completely out of line. Aside from the dining experience, everything else was satisfactory, but that incident was unacceptable. It seems that management may not be present all the time anymore.

The hotel recently changed its name to Fresh Wave from Wadiya Guest House. It has been completely updated, and the rooms now have a brand new feel with crisp sheets and spotless white walls. The staff is fantastic! ...

The cleanliness of the rooms could use some improvement, but the breakfast was fantastic. I especially loved the fish curry; it was incredibly tasty! 🥰 The hotel is right above the beach, providing a wonderful sea view.
