    Good location but payment issues

We stayed at Mirissa Beach Inn from February 1 to 3. The location is quite convenient, as Mirissa beach is nearby and Coconut Tree Hill is within walking distance. It's also a short stroll to the main road, where you can catch buses to Galle or Matara, making transportation easy. The room itself was basic—nothing too fancy. However, we were surprised to find that there were no toiletries provided at all—no shampoo, no body wash, nothing like that. Breakfast was included in our booking, and it turned out to be quite pleasant. It was simple but tasty, probably the highlight of our stay. The main issue we encountered was with the payment process. We booked through Booking.com and anticipated paying the price displayed there. However, upon arrival, the staff informed us that we had two options: pay cash for the amount shown on Booking.com or use a card and incur an extra fee. This was never mentioned during the booking process. We reached out to Booking.com, but the hotel apparently provided a copy stating that the payment was made in cash, which was not the case. It honestly felt somewhat deceptive. In summary, the location is great and the breakfast was enjoyable, but the absence of basic amenities and the payment issue left us with a negative impression. I would suggest confirming payment details ahead of time if you choose to stay here.
