Disappointing Experience at Cargills Food City
I recently had a very disappointing visit to Cargills Food City in Negombo, which turned out to be one of my worst shopping experiences. The main issue was the terrible state of the fruit section, especially the grapes on display. To my shock, I found that the grapes on the shelves were rotten and covered in a disgusting layer of fungus. It was clear they had been neglected for a long time, yet they were still displayed for unsuspecting customers like myself. Just looking at them made me unwilling to buy anything from that section. In addition to the awful condition of the grapes, the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the store were also very poor. An unpleasant odor lingered in the air, and the disorganization in the fruit area highlighted the store's neglect of proper standards. Moreover, the staff appeared indifferent and unresponsive when I attempted to voice my concerns. Their careless attitude and dismissive replies only added to my disappointment with their customer service. As a customer, I expect a certain level of quality and freshness in groceries, especially for perishable items like fruit. Cargills Food City in Negombo fell short of even the most basic expectations in this regard. It's disheartening to see a well-known supermarket chain like Cargills overlook such important aspects of their business. I strongly recommend that anyone thinking of shopping at Cargills Food City in Negombo be cautious and thoroughly check the quality of their products before buying. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this store to anyone who cares about the freshness and hygiene of their food. In summary, my visit to Cargills Food City in Negombo was a total letdown. The rotten grapes showcased were a clear indication of the store's negligence, and the staff's lack of response only added to my frustration. I will definitely take my business elsewhere in the future.
