    Poor Customer Service Experience

I visited Healthguard Pharmacy at One Galle Face and found the customer service to be quite disappointing. After a long day of practice, we arrived in casual clothes and slippers, only to be met with rude and judgmental behavior from the staff, seemingly based on our appearance. It was disheartening to be treated as if we didn’t belong, especially since looks shouldn’t determine one’s status. We may seem simple, but we are fortunate and appreciate what we have in life. To make matters worse, when I tried to pay with my BOC credit card, the cashier—who I believe was a supervisor or manager—claimed it wouldn’t work due to a “poor connection.” Consequently, I had to use my foreign card to make the purchase. I also noticed that prices here are much higher than at other pharmacies. While I understand that the premium pricing might be due to the rent at this location, the overall experience didn’t warrant it. I won’t be coming back, and I genuinely hope the staff can improve their customer service skills, particularly in treating all customers with respect, regardless of their appearance.

    Disappointing Service at Healthguard OGF

I had a very disappointing experience with customer service at Healthguard OGF. It felt like customers in line were ignored in favor of foreigners. This kind of behavior reflects a troubling form of internalized racism, making us feel like second-class citizens in our own country, even from fellow Sri Lankans. Poor service at this outlet seems to be a recurring issue, as noted by several other regular patrons too.

    Disappointing service and discrimination

On November 26, 2025, around 11 a.m., I visited the Healthguard location on the 4th floor. There were two pharmacists, one male and one female, both busy with customers. I patiently waited for my turn, but when the female pharmacist became available, she immediately acknowledged a couple of foreigners who had just arrived, despite my being there first. After assisting them, she approached the male pharmacist, who then pointed out that I was waiting. When I asked her why she chose to serve the foreigners first, her response was that they were at her counter. This was misleading, as there was no formal queue; we were all standing at an equal distance from her. I found her decision discriminatory. It’s one thing to experience this in a foreign country, but it’s much harder to accept in my own. I've noticed from other Google reviews that I'm not alone in my complaints about poor customer service and bias based on appearance. Healthguard clearly needs to improve their staff training on professionalism and equality.

    Inconsistent Closing Times

The sign states that it closes at 10 PM, but the OGF outlet actually shuts down by 9:50 PM. While the website indicates a 10 PM closing time, it seems the outlet decides when and how to close at their own discretion. It's absurd.
