A couple of days ago, I enjoyed dinner with a friend while traveling from Kataragama to Galle. The experience was fantastic, thanks to Gaganidu and Chathu, and the food was delightful. The atmosphere exceeded my expectations.

We had a fantastic time at Sera Restaurant in Shangri-La Hambantota. Right from the entrance, the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The service was exceptional—each team member was friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. A special shoutout to the restaurant manager, who really went the extra mile to ensure everything was just right. His reassuring presence made us feel appreciated and well looked after during our visit. Such hospitality is hard to come by and truly valued. We can't wait to return and highly recommend Sera to anyone visiting Hambantota!

During my time at Shangri-La, I've dined at this restaurant twice, and my taste buds have been thoroughly pleased. The wok fried noodles absolutely captivated me and were heavenly. I find myself reminiscing about how incredible that dish was. In addition to the noodles, you should also try the sweet and sour pork. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

We were really let down by our visit to Sera tonight. After being seated, we waited a considerable amount of time before having to flag down a waiter to place our order, and unfortunately, it just went downhill from there. My partner and I shared a Malaysian curry while our son ordered fish fingers. Though our drinks and curry arrived in a reasonable timeframe, our son's meal was still missing 5-10 minutes later, which prompted me to ask about it. We decided to dig into our meal, as it was cooling off. We finished the curry, but our son's dish had still not arrived. I believe the waiter only placed the order after I reminded him. It eventually came, 15-20 minutes after we finished our meal, with the excuse that it had to be prepared at the restaurant next door. This would be understandable, but we noticed other kids being served the same dish before our son, despite our order being placed earlier. We requested water twice but never received any. When we asked for dessert menus, we were again ignored while watching other tables get served. At that point, we decided to leave. Nobody acknowledged our departure or the lack of menus. We even saw another couple who were waiting for their menus leave shortly after us. Aside from these service issues, the curry itself was rather bland, though that wasn't the main problem. Considering this restaurant is part of a premium resort with high prices (which are outrageous for Sri Lanka), we expected better service. We knew it would be pricey, especially with only two main restaurants available, but it was excessively so. One would hope for at least good service in such a place, but sadly, that was not the case, leaving us with a very negative impression.

The service was fantastic, and the food we tried was extremely flavorful as well. I highly recommend the Char Siu fried rice, wok beef noodles, and sweet and sour pork.

Chathuranga and Lakshi provided wonderful service at Sera restaurant. The food was fantastic, and I would like to commend the chef at Sera. There's a significant contrast in both the atmosphere and the quality of food compared to the main restaurant, Bojunhala, which tends to be crowded and serves pretty average food.
