Avoid This Hospital at All Costs

After being diagnosed with dengue, I was following my family doctor's advice and managing okay. However, due to my fatigue, my mom insisted on hospitalizing me. In retrospect, we should have been more worried about our choice to go to this hospital—it turned out to be a terrible decision. As soon as I arrived, they rushed to admit me, applying a catheter for urine even though I could manage that myself. They made several alarming statements that really distressed my mom, leading her to agree to my admission. Ultimately, we decided to discharge ourselves that same night. The hospital charged us around 20k for the bed and saline, which felt excessive. I understand it's a private facility, but it seemed driven by greed. Thankfully, I didn’t experience the severe complications they warned us about; I continued to receive care at IDH and stayed in touch with my family doctor during my recovery. Looking back, it was foolish to choose this hospital without checking reviews, most of which are negative. I strongly advise against this hospital. If you face an emergency and can't afford a private facility, head to the nearest government hospital!

    Excellent hospital care

I was admitted and received treatment for my illness. The staff provided clear explanations about everything I needed to know during my hospital stay. The doctor detailed the treatment plan, and the nurses were attentive and caring towards the patients. All in all, it was a positive experience.

    Average experience during OPD visit

I went to the hospital on poya day for the OPD. There were no patients around, but the entire staff was present. I had to head to the first floor to make my payment, while the OPD doctor was located on the second floor. The pharmacy was also on the first floor, and the cashier was tucked away in a corner, which meant I had to walk quite a bit to navigate through the hospital. Overall, the experience was just average.

    Avoid Nawinna Medicare Hospital

I went to Nawinna Medicare Hospital after experiencing sudden skin rashes and welts. Instead of getting the professional, comforting care I expected, I faced extreme manipulation. The staff intentionally panicked me, exaggerating my condition to make it feel like a life-or-death situation. I genuinely felt like I was on the brink of dying. It quickly became clear that this fear-mongering was a deliberate strategy to inflate their medical bills. They rushed me into a series of completely unnecessary treatments and procedures. It was obvious that their main concern was not my health or well-being, but rather how to extract as much money from me as possible. This facility acts less like a healthcare provider and more like a corporate trap that exploits anxious, vulnerable patients for profit. They take advantage of your fear to fill their pockets. I strongly recommend steering clear of Nawinna Medicare Hospital. Protect your hard-earned money, mental well-being, and health, and seek care elsewhere where patients are treated with respect and genuine concern. This place is a total scam!

    Abandoned in the hospital queue

I had the worst experience as a patient here. For the first time in my life, I went to a hospital and left without any treatment. The doctor on duty at the OPD just abandoned the queue of patients and went home. We were left stranded, with no compassion or sense of responsibility shown at all.

    Frustratingly Slow Service

Our visit was incredibly disappointing. My wife was feeling unwell, so we went to the OPD and paid for her consultation. We got there around noon and ended up waiting almost four hours just to see a doctor. There was only one doctor available for all the patients, which led to significant delays. What added to our frustration was the sight of several nurses sitting around, chatting, and looking unoccupied while we waited. The overall vibe felt careless and unprofessional. After finally meeting with the doctor and getting the medication, we asked for a medical certificate. We were then told to wait once more, which resulted in an additional 20-minute delay. We weren't receiving free treatment or medication; we paid for the service and anticipated a reasonable level of care and efficiency. I can't recommend this place.

    Exceptional Care at Medicare Hospital

I was admitted to Medicare Hospital for a few days due to a viral fever. During my stay, the doctors, nurses, and all the staff were incredibly kind, caring, and professional. The hospital was clean and well-maintained, and the quality of both the healthcare services and the meals was outstanding. I want to give a special shoutout to Ms. Nadeera, who warmly welcomed me, helped me through the admission process, and patiently explained the available facilities. I also want to extend my gratitude to the Hospital Director, Dr. Sarath Ratnayake, who personally went over my reports and took the time to explain my condition in a friendly and reassuring manner. I highly recommend Medicare Hospital to anyone seeking quality medical care, compassionate service, and a comfortable patient experience.

I give this hospital five stars. During my grandmother's recent admission, the service was exceptional. The staff were not only friendly but also very professional and attentive. They took excellent care of her, ensuring she was comfortable during her stay. We are truly thankful for their compassion and the high standard of care provided. I highly recommend this place.

    Disappointing hospital experience

This was my first time at Navinna Medicare Hospital, and frankly, it will be my last. I visited due to a fever, hoping to see an OPD doctor. Upon arrival, I was informed there was no OPD doctor available because he was doing ward rounds. After paying the OPD fee, I was directed to the second floor to consult a ward doctor instead. A female doctor began asking about my symptoms, but soon a male doctor entered and asked if I wanted to discover the real cause of my illness through tests or just receive some medication and head home. He spoke quickly and needed an immediate response. Feeling unwell and somewhat bewildered, I opted for the tests. After they took my blood and started a saline drip, I was left unattended for over an hour. Even after the saline finished, my friend had to request assistance twice before anyone came to remove it. The overall management of the process was very poor. We had to continuously inquire for updates, check if my reports were normal, and ask when I could be discharged. There seemed to be little interest in keeping patients informed. What frustrated me the most was what I witnessed when I returned to the OPD with my reports. A number of nurses and staff were gathered around a table, chatting and playing with bubble wrap while patients waited. We asked to see the doctor and were told to wait. After waiting and asking again, still nothing happened. It took a third request before I was finally seen by the doctor. Seeing staff engaging in unrelated activities while patients were left in limbo created a very negative impression of the hospital. The pharmacy experience was equally disappointing. A nurse insisted multiple times that I should buy the prescribed medication from the hospital dispensary instead of from outside. When we inquired about the price from the pharmacist, she appeared annoyed and reluctant to share that information. In summary, while there were plenty of staff around, the care for patients, communication, and organization were severely lacking. What should have been a straightforward visit for a fever turned into hours of waiting, confusion, and frustration. Honestly, I’ve had better experiences at government hospitals where patients are often managed more efficiently and professionally. I wouldn't recommend Navinna Medicare Hospital based on my experience. This was one of the worst hospital visits I’ve encountered. Save your time and patience.
