    Great atmosphere and customizable dishes

This place has a fantastic vibe and delicious food. One of the highlights is their willingness to customize dishes to our preferences. The service is friendly, and I appreciate that they’re on delivery platforms like PickMe, making ordering super convenient. I also liked that they offer halal options. I will definitely order from here again.

    Disappointing Experience with Poor Service

I genuinely hope the owner takes a moment to read this feedback. My wife and I dined at this hotel on March 20, 2026, around 3:20 PM, and management can verify this through CCTV footage if it's still accessible. I apologize for the delay in sharing our experience, but it felt essential to highlight our visit. Upon our arrival, we seated ourselves but were completely overlooked as the staff seemed to be preoccupied in the kitchen. After some time, I was finally able to get the attention of a staff member (a fair, slightly well-built individual) to request a menu. After looking it over, we waited another 10 minutes for someone to take our order. The restaurant was nearly empty, with just two other tourists present. I had to wait for another staff member, a slim, fair individual who was polite and welcoming, to take our order. We chose a Full Mixed Samba Rice, a Coke, and a Seven-Up. We were told it would take a little while, which we accepted. However, after that, the server vanished. By then, 20 minutes had elapsed since we arrived, and we were very hungry. After spotting the server again, we asked for our drinks to be served while the food was being prepared. He agreed but returned with a Seven-Up and a Pepsi instead of the Coke, informing us that they were out of stock. To make things worse, neither drink was chilled. Another 10 minutes passed before the same server came back to say that the Samba rice was unavailable and asked if we could accept Basmati rice instead. Eager to eat, we agreed, but by this time, it had been over 50 minutes since we first placed our order. Finally, one hour after ordering, the server brought our food. He apologized and explained that there had been an issue in the kitchen, and since they had run out of Basmati rice, he had steamed a fresh batch of Samba rice and prepared our meal himself. The dish was nicely garnished, and seeing his evident effort and exhaustion eased our frustration, at least momentarily. However, as soon as my wife and I served ourselves and took our first bites, we found the food utterly unacceptable. The rice was severely undercooked and hard (ඇටකුණා වෙලා). Driven by hunger, we forced down a couple more bites before calling the server over. When I pointed out that the rice was raw and not edible, he defensively responded, "I just steamed it now; that must be why," and promptly retreated to the kitchen. With no other options nearby and unable to withstand the hunger, we had to swallow a few more bites out of sheer necessity. Additionally, the "Full Mixed Rice" was a huge letdown; it had only two or three small shrimp-sized prawns and a few dry bits of chicken. The portion was far from adequate for a full meal. As an owner, it's vital to instill a fundamental principle in your staff: customers come to a restaurant because they are hungry. Making them wait over an hour for subpar, raw food is simply unacceptable. There was a clear lack of organization, accountability, and basic customer care. If an item on the menu is unavailable, customers should be informed upfront, and realistic preparation times should be communicated. For authenticity, I completed the electronic payment for this meal on March 20, 2026, at 4:41 PM under the name K J Haputhanthri (Total: Rs. 2,460/=). I strongly urge the management to review the staff's conduct and our service timeline on the CCTV footage from that day. This experience was undeniably third-class—one we’ve never encountered even at a basic local eatery in Ratnapura. The only reason we consumed any of the food was due to extreme hunger, certainly not its quality. I've attached a few photos for reference.
