The food was decent, but it took over 30 minutes for them to prepare rice. There’s no air conditioning, and the customer service left something to be desired. If the restaurant isn't busy, you might have to wait 10 minutes or more to find a server.

Corundum Restaurant in Ratnapura is located at Kudugalwatta, right in front of the Dialog arcade. The junction location makes parking and access a bit tricky. While there is a manageable parking area, it's not extensive. The restaurant has a large cutout sign that makes it easy to find. I visited for dinner with family, but it was set up on the second floor, which was inconvenient since we had to climb the stairs. It would be more family-friendly if there were a dining area on the ground floor. As for the food, I found it lacking in flavor. I ordered two fried rice dishes and a kottu, but none stood out as special, so I can't really recommend it to others. Regarding the ambiance, the interior has a party vibe, especially at night when the lighting creates a darker atmosphere. The staff were friendly and provided good service, but overall, I was disappointed with the food. It felt dry and not fresh, with a bit too much salt. The portion sizes were small for the price we paid. We attempted to return another time, but the hotline was down, adding to my negative impression. If you're looking for a peaceful dining experience, this place may not be the best choice since it attracts many groups that can be noisy, and there's no separation between the party area and dining space. Those wanting a calm meal might find this distracting. I can't recommend it.

Great taste and value for money

My experience here was quite disappointing. I've tried the food both as takeaway and while dining in, and I would describe it as average or even below. Most recently, I ordered the Thai seafood Tom Yum soup, but it was nowhere near an authentic Tom Yum (see photo). There were small pieces of prawns in the soup, and the flavor was terrible. Overall, the quality fell short of my expectations. It definitely wasn't worth the price I paid.
