    Service Issues with Coffee Experience

    We encountered poor service when they messed up our coffee order; it tasted like lime tea. When we inquired about it, they explained that they had cleaned the machine the night before with a corrosive substance, which is labeled as dangerous. They didn't even apologize for the mistake or seem to care about the situation. One of our friends has food and chemical allergies, and if he had consumed that, it could have been life-threatening. They really need to be more attentive to these issues.

    Safety Concerns with Coffee Preparation

    I had a very disappointing experience. The coffee had a taste reminiscent of chemicals or lime tea. The staff mentioned that the machine had been cleaned with a corrosive chemical the night before and apparently wasn’t rinsed out properly. Despite explaining the issue, there was no apology or concern from the staff. This could pose a risk for customers with allergies. There needs to be significant improvement in both customer safety and service.

    Exciting Changes at Rest House

    Rest House appears to have new management and is undergoing a significant renovation. I’m quite thrilled! On my way to Yala, I decided to stop by Rest House for a cup of tea and enjoy the view. I had visited several times in the past, and it was always in poor condition. However, I noticed a lot of refurbishing taking place, and the venue is looking really appealing. I was delighted to witness this transformation, as I have always believed that this location, with its rich culture and history, truly deserves better. I had the opportunity to chat with the owners on-site, and they kindly offered me a cup of tea while sharing their vision for the place, which really got me excited. I will definitely return once it reopens to the public.

    Great food with stunning views

    The restaurant is open to the public and boasts beautiful views from the outdoor seating area. The food is excellent, though the portions are quite large, so keep that in mind. The place has been recently renovated, and everything is clean and well-maintained.

    Great Stay at Rest House Hambantota

    I just got back from my trip to Hambantota where I stayed at the Rest House. It's under new management and everything was fantastic. The food was incredible and the staff were very helpful. The location offers stunning views all around and there are many historical sites just a short walk away. If you're heading to Hambantota or on your way to Yala or Katharagama, this is definitely a place you should stop at; it's worth your time. Overall, it was an amazing experience—definitely check it out for yourself!

    Breathtaking views and great buffet

    I had the pleasure of visiting the newly renovated Rest House Hambantota while en route to Kataragama. They offered an incredible lunch buffet with a vast selection, and the view from the restaurant was simply stunning. It's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

    Great Stop for Cruise Visitors

    As a tour guide, I strongly suggest Hambantota Rest House for those arriving on cruise ships or traveling from Colombo and beyond. After a Yala safari or a city exploration, it's an ideal spot to unwind for a couple of hours and savor some tasty food.
