Great hotel, service needs work

This hotel is quite good overall. However, the service could use some improvement. We arrived on a Sunday, and it seemed like the reception staff weren't fully aware of their responsibilities. The following day was much better, as the main reception staff member handled everything well.

Disappointing stay with many issues

We reserved two AC rooms, but neither had a functioning air conditioning system. Additionally, the hot water shower had leaks all over. There was quite a bit of noise from the surroundings, which was quite bothersome. Although they claim the location is good, the hotel is on a narrow road, making transportation difficult. The towels were repulsive, covered in cobwebs and clearly not cleaned or used in a long time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic Stay and Dining Experience

This hotel surpassed all my expectations. The service was outstanding, the room felt luxurious, and the location couldn't have been better. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a 5-star experience! The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! Every dish was full of flavor and the ambiance was just right for a lovely evening out. It truly was one of the best dining experiences I've had! I stayed in room 60, booked from the 5th to the 6th.

Room issues led to early cancellation

This place isn’t great for a stay. I reserved it quickly without looking at reviews or ratings. The room we were assigned had a strong unpleasant odor, reminiscent of a toilet. We also faced problems with the bathroom—there was no water. We couldn’t stay there for more than a few minutes and ended up canceling our booking right away.

Mixed experience with family room

We stayed in a family room for one night in early May 2025. While the room and bathroom seemed clean, there was a noticeable unpleasant odor, reminiscent of overflowing septic tanks. The room had a door that opened onto a balcony, but the lock was quite flimsy and could be easily opened from the outside with minimal effort. After we raised our concerns to the hotel staff, they agreed to move us to another room. This second room also looked clean but felt quite cramped. The bathroom was small, making it difficult to move around. One wall was oddly partitioned with hardboard and had several holes, but since it was out of reach from the outside and we weren't planning to stay long, we chose to overlook it. Overall, the construction of the place felt rather careless. On the plus side, the AC and TV were functioning well. We didn't order any food from the hotel. The nearest bus stop is over half a kilometer away, and the railway station is even farther. The surrounding view isn't appealing, and the management should focus more on maintaining the property.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff

What a lovely spot! The staff here are incredibly kind and eager to assist with anything you need. The establishment looks great and is kept very clean!

Decent Stay with Room for Improvement

The rooms are on the smaller side and show some signs of aging, needing better upkeep. The bathroom wasn't very clean, and the taps and showers looked a bit messy. Nonetheless, the property's overall maintenance was acceptable. The garden and lobby were beautifully adorned with various antique pieces, which added a nice charm. We found the absence of a water heater, cups, or chairs in the room to be a bit inconvenient when we wanted hot water. On a positive note, the air conditioning functioned well, and the rates were quite reasonable. The location is also quite convenient. In summary, it’s a fair place to stay, but there is definitely potential for improvement, especially in cleanliness and basic amenities.

Great stay at CTC Receptions Hotel

I’ve stayed at CTC Receptions Hotel twice, and both times I had a wonderful experience. The level of service offered here is remarkable for the price they charge. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. They also have a restaurant with an outdoor seating area that serves good quality food at very reasonable prices. Overall, it’s definitely a solid choice for a stay in Anuradhapura.

Clean room but door lock issues

I reserved this hotel through Booking.com for a family trip. The room appeared to be clean and quite spacious. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that the door lock was not working properly. I reached out to the front desk, and they sent someone from maintenance to address the issue.
