    Disappointing Stay at Yara Hotel

    Our time at Yara Hotel left much to be desired. To start, the room was incredibly noisy due to ongoing disturbances from outside, which hindered our ability to relax. It was also quite small, with an even more cramped bathroom that fell short of basic comfort standards. We were taken aback by the additional charges as well. Only two water bottles were given at check-in, and any more came at a cost. Even basic baby necessities like milk and food were charged and only available until 9:30 PM, which is quite inconvenient—especially since many hotels offer these essentials more flexibly. The dining experience was also disappointing. There were very few vegetarian options, and the overall food quality did not live up to our expectations. In summary, the experience did not justify our stay, and there's a lot of room for improvement in service, hospitality, and guest comfort.

    Unforgettable Stay at Yara

    Our time at Yara in Nuwara Eliya was an unforgettable experience. This place is a true gem in the city — a charming boutique hotel boasting an elegant vibe, exceptional cleanliness, and breathtaking surroundings. The hotel is impeccably maintained, and the rooms are tastefully designed with all the necessary facilities for a comfortable and relaxing stay. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our visit. The service from the entire team was remarkable from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff are well-trained, professional, humble, and genuinely caring towards their guests. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our time there. The food was incredibly delicious and bursting with flavor. We especially want to commend the restaurant team, notably Prabu and Chandru, who were very attentive and friendly during every meal. A special thanks to Chef Mohan for crafting such delightful dishes and ensuring a fantastic dining experience for us. The Tom Yum soup we had for dinner was particularly outstanding and genuinely one of the highlights of our meals. Additionally, we want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of each department within the hotel — including housekeeping, front office, and security staff. Every single person performed their duties with professionalism, neatness, and great commitment. Their teamwork and attention to detail clearly reflect the high standards upheld by Yara. A very special mention goes to Mr. Vicky, the hotel Manager. His leadership, kindness, and personal attention to guests are truly commendable. He and his entire team go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels comfortable, respected, and cared for. Their hospitality is heartfelt and genuinely overwhelming in the best possible way. I can confidently assert that Yara is one of the best additions to Nuwara Eliya, and I would highly recommend this place to my friends, family, colleagues, and anyone seeking a peaceful and memorable stay in the area. Thank you once again to the entire Yara team for your excellent hospitality, outstanding service, and for making our stay so beautiful and memorable. We genuinely look forward to returning in the future.

    Disappointing stay at Yara Hotel

    Our experience at Yara Hotel was rather disappointing, especially given that we spent about ₹15,500 for two nights. The property failed to meet even fundamental expectations. The room was quite small, and the bathroom was uncomfortably cramped. To add to our discomfort, we were disturbed by constant noise from outside, which impacted our ability to rest. One of the most frustrating aspects was how basic amenities were managed. After the initial two bottles of drinking water, there was a charge for more, and even simple baby food like milk wasn’t available without an extra fee—and only until 9:30 PM! This kind of service is unexpected at this price level. The food quality was also disappointing. The vegetarian options were quite limited, and the flavors didn’t really impress. For the price we paid, one would anticipate at least a basic level of comfort and hospitality. Sadly, this stay fell short in several areas and didn't feel like it was worth the cost.

    Basic amenities with good breakfast

    Don't be misled. There are virtually no amenities available. The hot water situation is lacking; you have to wait about 10 minutes between showers to allow the water to heat up again for the next person. The location isn't ideal either, as there are workers loitering near the entrance smoking. Google Street View shows an old rundown hotel named Milano Inn at this site, which seems to have been renovated into Yara. On the bright side, the bathrooms were kept clean, and the breakfast was quite good. For the price, you can find much better options in Nuwara Eliya.

    Wonderful stay in Nuwara Eliya

    We had a fantastic experience. The hotel is gorgeous. The breakfast was delightful, and the hospitality was incredibly welcoming. We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking accommodation in Nuwara Eliya!

    Surprising Delight at Yara Hotel

    We unexpectedly stopped by Yara Hotel looking for a restroom but ended up staying for the food. The atmosphere was incredible, offering a stunning view of the city and hills. While the appetizers were delicious, they were on the smaller side. I tried the chicken steak, nasi gorang, and some coffees. The dishes were fantastic, and I can confidently say I had the best chicken steak during my visit to Sri Lanka. I will certainly miss Mavin, Prabhu, and Chandru for their warm welcome and attentive service.

    Great stay with excellent service

    I had a fantastic time at this hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Housekeeping consistently did a great job each day, ensuring everything was tidy and fresh. I want to give a special shoutout to Marvin, Chandru, and Prabhu for their exceptional service. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with a smile. Their professionalism and warm hospitality truly made our visit unforgettable.

    Noisy hotel experience

    The hotel sits on a bustling street, making it quite loud at night and into the early morning. I was kept awake by the sounds of traffic and other disturbances throughout the night. While the room was fairly new and clean, the noise level was too much for me. I don't think I would choose to return.

    Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Service

    We had a fantastic stay at the hotel, where the service was remarkable from beginning to end. A special mention goes to the hotel manager, Mr. Vignesh, along with Mr. Prabhu and Mr. Chandru; all of you were outstanding, attentive, and made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was delightful as well! From the comforting chicken soup at dinner to the fresh pastries and blueberry muffins for breakfast, everything was delicious. The highlight was being treated to a Mother’s Day cappuccino – such a thoughtful touch that truly brightened my day 😊. I highly recommend this hotel if you're searching for excellent hospitality and delicious food in Nuwara Eliya. Thank you, team!
