    Mixed Experience with Breakfast and Facilities

    While taking a bath, the hot water suddenly stopped, leaving only cold water from the shower. This forced me to take a shower with my head under the fixed showerhead, as there were no hand showers or buckets available. The rooms were poorly lit, and there were no chairs, so I had to place my luggage on the floor. For breakfast, the upma and pongal tasted stale, and the dosa was overly fermented. Additionally, the coconut chutney lacked flavor.

    Avoid this hotel at all costs

    This hotel is a disaster. The staff is unresponsive, and they seem to be doing nothing. The phone line doesn’t work, and there’s no fan or heater. The food is subpar, and there’s no hot water for showers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT STAYING AT THIS HOTEL; it’s a waste of money.

    Great staff and value for money

    As an Indian tourist, I found the hotel staff to be outstanding. The rooms were tidy and well-kept, and the food was quite enjoyable. However, I think the hotel's exterior could use some enhancements. Overall, I recommend booking here; it's definitely worth the price.

    Good hotel but rude restaurant staff

    The hotel was nice, and both the reception and staff were pleasant. However, the chef at the restaurant was extremely rude. We had made arrangements with the front office manager for an early breakfast since we were in a hurry to catch a train. Although we were supposed to have breakfast at 6:30 AM, we only got to the restaurant by 7:05 AM. As we began our meal, the chef was very disrespectful, slamming the food tray and displaying a lack of politeness. I would not recommend staying here if you plan to take a train ride downhill.

    Charming hotel with great service

    Queensbury City Hotel is delightful, with truly friendly and accommodating reception staff. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and have charming decor. The overall atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. We've had a wonderful experience here, and I would recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a reliable and comfortable stay in Nuwara Eliya.

    Pleasant Stay with Delicious Indian Food

    During our visit to Sri Lanka, we’re staying at the Queensbury Hotel, and it’s been a delightful experience. The staff is incredibly polite, and the Indian food served at the buffet was delicious, making us feel at home even while abroad. The restaurant team, including Thileeban, Dhinu, and Xavier, were very hospitable and catered to our needs. Kudos to Chef Sana and Dhanu for the amazing food… Thank you! 👍👍

    Great Stay with Friendly Staff

    We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. The room was spotless, and the customer service was available whenever we needed it. A special shoutout to Ms. Shakira, the housekeeping supervisor, who was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for visitors! 👍

    Avoid This Place at All Costs

    Even if you were offered a free stay, I wouldn't recommend this place. We stayed from May 31 to June 1, 2026, and encountered several issues: 1. The rooms were not clean. 2. Birds were playing on the roof, creating constant noise that disturbed our sleep. 3. There was no hot water in the morning, and even after we complained, it took them an hour to resolve the issue. 4. The food was terrible; not a single dish was good. The omelet had a horrible smell. 5. There was no TV remote, so we had to walk up to the TV each time to turn it on or off. Overall, this was our worst stay!!!

    Disappointing Stay at This Hotel

    My experience at this hotel was just average. I made my reservation through Agoda and anticipated a high-end room based on the photos and description provided. Sadly, the actual room fell short of the luxury and elegance depicted online. The environment wasn't great for a 3-star hotel either. There was a mosque nearby, and I was disturbed by the noise from pigeons and crows starting early in the morning, which detracted from my comfort during the stay. To make matters worse, there was no warm welcome when I arrived. On the brighter side, the trainee staff were friendly and offered decent service. However, the food at the restaurant did not live up to my expectations. In summary, my experience here left a lot to be desired, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
