During our one-night stay, we were greeted with a friendly welcome from Srikanth. The room was spotless, and the mattresses were incredibly comfortable. Although the location is somewhat remote, he kindly offered to drive us to a restaurant and pick us up later – truly impressive service. Breakfast was made with care, and the omelet was exceptional.

When we booked our stay, we were informed via message that taxi services were available. A few days later, I reached out to inquire about the taxi fare from our location to their place and whether card payments were accepted for accommodation. After two days of no response, I received a vague ‘no idea ma’am’ regarding the taxi and a confirmation that cards were accepted. We ended up arranging our own taxi. On the morning of our arrival, I received a message indicating they were cash only. When we arrived at 3pm, there was no one to greet us. I called, and they showed up 5 minutes later. Our room wasn’t prepared, so they quickly made our bed and tossed in two towels. No information was provided about WiFi or anything else unless I asked. Shortly after, the electricity went out. I had to inquire about it, and it came back on after 15-20 minutes. It felt like the two staff members didn’t know what they were doing. The next morning, the water stopped working. I asked what was going on and was told the tank was refilling and it would take 20-30 minutes. We left, returning around 5pm ready for a shower, only to find out the water was still off. One staff member asked about our departure time and requested payment, without mentioning the water issue. After paying, we went back to our room to find no water. I messaged them and got a reply that it would return in 30 minutes, followed by 'I don’t know. I’m new.' He said he would contact the owner. I expressed my frustration, especially since I had just paid and wasn’t informed about the ongoing issue. Eventually, the owner appeared with excuses about the water company, but we hadn’t faced any issues elsewhere in town. Promises of 30 minutes came and went, and the water finally returned at low pressure around 8:30pm, still too weak for a shower (see video), but at least we could flush the toilet and wash our hands. I requested a partial refund as compensation, which was initially denied but later granted. Ten minutes later, they asked for most of it back, threatening our stay if we didn’t comply. By then, we had no choice but to stay. The next morning, the water pressure improved but was brown. It seems there’s been a change of staff since the previous positive reviews, and I wouldn’t want others to have their high expectations dashed like we did by this terrible experience. Avoid.

We really enjoyed our stay! Srikanth, our host, was warm and friendly. The room was tidy, and the breakfast was satisfying. I would definitely recommend this place!

The property struggles with water outages and intermittent electricity issues. The staff, being young and somewhat inexperienced, appear to have taken over from the previous individual who received great reviews but is unfortunately no longer present. Based on our experience, I can't recommend this place. Significant improvements are needed in both utility services and communication with guests.

The accommodation was ideal, located a bit away from the busy areas, which made it quite enjoyable. Everything was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The Themaradu restaurant, also run by the same owner, matched the quality of the lodging! As someone who works in the hotel industry, I've seldom encountered such attentive service. Thank you very much; we would definitely like to return!

My partner and I enjoyed two wonderful nights at this guesthouse! The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the atmosphere had a warm English-style charm. What stood out most was the amazing welcome from Mr. Malik and Mr. Chandy! Mr. Malik was quick to respond when we arrived by bus, which is quite rare in Sri Lankan guesthouses. He ensured we had everything we needed, being incredibly helpful and friendly, and even arranged for Mr. Chandy to drive us to the property in the rain! Mr. Chandy is a skilled and affable driver. We highly recommend taking a tour with him as he knows the area exceptionally well and can suggest the best options. We had a fantastic time! Don’t miss their bar, "Themparadu"! It’s a distinctive spot with great music, a diverse range of Sri Lankan fusion dishes, and a good selection of drinks, beers, and cocktails. Sadly, we only met the owner on our last night before leaving as the place was closing, but he seemed like a genuinely great person. The staff were friendly throughout our stay, and we had a wonderful experience! If we ever return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely visit Nuwara Eliya again to catch up and stay at their guesthouse for at least one night. Highly recommended!

This place is a fantastic option for accommodations. The owner is quite like Temparadu, providing discounts for guests. The thick blankets make for a cozy and comfortable experience. Additionally, the manager was very friendly and permitted us to use the kitchen. On the downside, the Wi-Fi is extremely slow, making it practically unusable.

The Garden Room is incredibly comfortable and cozy, featuring the best mattresses we've experienced so far. The team, which I believe is made up of a couple of friends and their parents, is wonderfully friendly and always ready to assist you. The entire place is spotless, and the breakfast is quite tasty. The restaurant, Themparadu, is also operated by the same group and serves as a lovely spot to relax. The food there is delicious, and the vibe feels like you're dining among friends. We had an amazing stay and experience. Malith was an exceptional host, making us feel truly welcome in Nuwara Eliya. The hospitality we received here was the best of our trip to Sri Lanka, complemented by a delicious and fresh breakfast every morning. Additionally, they provided us with a 20% discount at their local restaurant, Themparadu, where we enjoyed great food and service once again.
