My mother was admitted to Ward 14 Surgical at Jayawardanapura Hospital for a leg wound, and our experience was quite disappointing. We asked multiple times for a room, but no one seemed to care or provide a suitable response. During her stay, her hemoglobin levels dropped, and for the first three days, she couldn't eat or drink properly, only receiving saline. It felt like her condition was not given the attention it needed. What frustrated us the most was seeing staff members, including nurses and doctors, chatting and laughing while patients and their families waited for proper care and updates. The level of communication and concern for patients was very lacking. Even after my mother was discharged in the morning following five days of admission, the hospital didn’t prepare her bill until 7 PM, adding unnecessary stress and delays. Given our experience, I cannot recommend Jayawardanapura Hospital’s surgical ward services. I hope they can improve their patient care, communication, and overall efficiency in the future.

On May 27, 2026, I visited the hospital for a check-up. I arrived at 9:00 AM and had to wait until 1:40 PM to get my medication. The cost for the medicine was an additional 17,000. There seems to be a lack of proper management as the staff were unhelpful and did not provide any assistance during my long wait. It felt like there was no concern for the patients, which added to my frustration.

Mr. Udayanga at the reception is an exceptional employee who shows complete dedication to assisting patients and offers clear instructions. Three years ago, I visited for an inquiry but didn't receive adequate guidance. However, today's experience was different, and I hope they continue this great service! 👍

Today, I visited Jayawardenapuruth Hospital (06-06-2026) and was greeted with exceptional service from the two young men in the Public Relations Information Department. I truly appreciated their assistance, and Dr. Thilan, who examined me in room five, was incredibly kind as well. I'm writing this note to acknowledge and honor their excellent service.

We visited Jayawardenapura Hospital for a hernia operation, and the experience was excellent. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Udayanga, who assisted us without any bias regarding caste or religion. They were very understanding of our circumstances and managed to schedule an appointment for us promptly. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Jayawardenapura General Hospital! 🙏🙏
