Exceptional Care at Jayawardenapura Hospital

We had a fantastic experience at Jayawardenapura General Hospital. From our arrival, every member of the medical team, including nurses and support staff, treated us with kindness, respect, and professionalism. We are especially grateful to **Dr. Rohan Siris**, whose remarkable knowledge, skill, and compassionate care instilled complete confidence during my wife's treatment and surgery. He took the time to explain each step of the process, ensuring we felt reassured in a challenging time. Our sincere thanks also go to **Dr. Isuri** for her warmth, friendly demeanor, and outstanding care. She was consistently supportive, patient, and reassuring throughout our stay. With genuine compassion, she always took the time to address our questions clearly, making a tough situation much easier for our family. A heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and hospital staff for their dedication, professionalism, and caring approach. Their teamwork and commitment made a real difference in my wife's recovery. Today, my wife is recovering well, and we are truly thankful to everyone at Jayawardenapura General Hospital. We appreciate the exceptional service and the care we received. We highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of excellent medical treatment and compassionate healthcare.

Exceptional Service at Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital

This was my first visit to Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital. I must admit, I arrived with less than favorable expectations, as many Sri Lankans share certain views about the government and semi-government sectors. The highlight of my experience was Mr. Gihan from the Guest Services desk at the entrance. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. Being a first-time visitor, I was unsure about where to go or the procedures involved. Mr. Gihan took the time to explain everything thoroughly, guiding me through each step and directing me to the exact locations I needed to visit. He never made me feel like I was imposing or that he was too busy to assist, which truly impressed me. What stood out the most was his demeanor. He spoke with respect, treated me kindly, and seemed genuinely invested in my assistance. It felt less like a job for him and more like a heartfelt effort to help. Such service is increasingly rare and should be acknowledged. I would also like to extend my thanks to Mr. Udayanga, who was next to him and provided additional helpful instructions. Both men left a very positive first impression on me. However, the bulk of the support I received came from Mr. Gihan, who deserves special recognition for his exceptional service. Of course, no place is without its flaws. I did notice a few minor issues with some staff members, and the cashiers could certainly use a smile, but these were not significant enough to detract from my overall experience. The outstanding service from the front desk officer more than compensated for these small shortcomings. While there can be some waiting times when seeing a doctor or picking up medication, given the quality of service and the price, it is absolutely worthwhile. A huge thank you to Mr. Gihan for ensuring my first visit was smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. Staff members like him are invaluable to any organization.

Disappointing Experience at Jayawardanapura Hospital

My mother was admitted to Ward 14 Surgical at Jayawardanapura Hospital for a leg wound, and our experience was quite disappointing. We asked multiple times for a room, but no one seemed to care or provide a suitable response. During her stay, her hemoglobin levels dropped, and for the first three days, she couldn't eat or drink properly, only receiving saline. It felt like her condition was not given the attention it needed. What frustrated us the most was seeing staff members, including nurses and doctors, chatting and laughing while patients and their families waited for proper care and updates. The level of communication and concern for patients was very lacking. Even after my mother was discharged in the morning following five days of admission, the hospital didn’t prepare her bill until 7 PM, adding unnecessary stress and delays. Given our experience, I cannot recommend Jayawardanapura Hospital’s surgical ward services. I hope they can improve their patient care, communication, and overall efficiency in the future.

On May 27, 2026, I visited the hospital for a check-up. I arrived at 9:00 AM and had to wait until 1:40 PM to get my medication. The cost for the medicine was an additional 17,000. There seems to be a lack of proper management as the staff were unhelpful and did not provide any assistance during my long wait. It felt like there was no concern for the patients, which added to my frustration.
